The Chicken is an animal you meet on the world map of Dragon's Dogma 2. It shrugs off Unconscious, so skills and attacks meant to knock a target senseless do nothing to it. Bringing one down yields Scrag of Beast. The same item can also be pilfered from a Chicken during a fight, so a pawn or Arisen with the means to steal can take a Scrag of Beast without finishing it off first.
The map has 10 Chicken spots, and Vernworth is the named place with the most, with 6 of them around it. That makes the area near Vernworth the place to head when you want Scrag of Beast from Chickens. The other spots sit elsewhere on the map, so if the birds around Vernworth are not where you expect, widen the search beyond the city.
