Duskfade: How Long It Takes to Beat and 100 Percent

Campaign length, full completion time, and everything padding out the clock in Weird Beluga’s platformer.

Duskfade follows Zirian and his mechanical cuckoo across a clockwork realm split into four main worlds, each guarded by a chain he has to break to reach the tower holding his sister. That structure sets a fairly predictable runtime, whether you rush the story or dig into every collectible.

Quick answer: A story-focused playthrough on default difficulty runs about 10 to 15 hours. Chasing full completion pushes that to roughly 15 to 20 hours, while a trophy or achievement clean-up lands closer to 9 to 12 hours on Story Mode.

Duskfade length by goal

The gap between beating Duskfade and finishing everything is a few hours, not a marathon. Weird Beluga has stated the full experience sits between 15 and 20 hours depending on how many secrets you hunt down. Individual playthroughs skew shorter if you only follow the critical path.

GoalApproximate time
Main story (light exploration)10–15 hours
Trophy / achievement completion (Story Mode)9–12 hours
Full 100 percent completion15–20 hours

If you mainline the campaign and only grab collectibles that sit directly in your path, the low end of that story range is realistic. Backtracking to sweep every area is what stretches the clock toward 20 hours.

What makes up the campaign

Zirian’s quest is to rescue his sister from a mysterious tower, which requires finding and breaking four chains to open its doors. That translates into four primary worlds, plus an opening mission and a lengthy final encounter that sit outside those four.

Each world is bigger than it sounds. Every one is split into two distinct, expansive areas, and the adventure to break a single chain typically covers three to four zones. Simply moving through one world tends to take a couple of hours on its own, which is how a “short” four-world game reaches double-digit hours.

Along the way you unlock new combat and traversal abilities, including zip lines and glider wings. Those tools open up parts of the map you could not reach earlier, so some areas are meant to be revisited once you are better equipped.

What extends the completion time

Duskfade leans hard into collectathon design, so the extra hours come from optional pickups scattered across every world. Health and Temporal Energy upgrades, resources for buying new moves and improving the Minutero, and cosmetic rewards all live off the main path.

  • Hidden rift challenges tucked around each world.
  • Kittens that unlock new outfits when caught.
  • Antique coins used to buy cards in the hub world.
  • Music boxes and Rainbow Ingots to track down.
  • Vials of colored dye that earn alternate color schemes.

The hardest items to find are the broken stained glass pieces, which reveal one of the game’s biggest secrets. These are far more obscure than anything else and require going back through each world and turning over every stone. There is no toggle to make collectibles easier to spot, so full completion means genuinely exploring each level.

Trophy and achievement completion

The trophy list is more forgiving than a full item sweep. Duskfade has 26 trophies on PS5, including one Platinum, and 25 achievements worth 1,000 Gamerscore on Xbox and PC. Everything can be earned on Story Mode, and there are no currently reported missable or glitched entries.

The Platinum, Master Clockmaker, requires every other trophy, and a clean run tends to take about 9 to 12 hours. Several golds map directly onto the collectible categories above, such as catching all of Tailord’s kittens, returning every music box, completing the card collection, and maxing your health and Temporal Energy bars.

PlatformTotalCompletion rewardEstimated time
PS526 trophies1 Platinum + 25 othersAbout 9–12 hours
Xbox / PC25 achievements1,000 GamerscoreAbout 9–12 hours

The most efficient route is to grab whatever is immediately reachable during the story, then use the post-story period to clean up the rest. Because traversal abilities open areas late, it is worth leaving some kittens, cards, hiding spots, and Rainbow Ingots for that final cleanup rather than forcing them early.

How difficulty changes your runtime

Duskfade includes multiple difficulty settings, and they shift your total time. Lowering the challenge trims hours off encounters and boss fights, while raising it adds playtime through tougher combat. Combat dodge timing can feel floaty at first, mostly in smaller fights, so early hours may run slightly longer until the timing clicks.

Duskfade is out now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. If you are still deciding, the campaign gives you a solid 10-to-15-hour platformer, and the collectibles are there when you want to keep the clock running toward 100 percent.
