Duskfade: How to Unlock the Kingdom Hearts Sora and Keyblade Skins

The exact items, abilities, and shop stops needed to equip Zirian's Sora outfit and the Keyblade sword skin.

The exact items, abilities, and shop stops needed to equip Zirian’s Sora outfit and the Keyblade sword skin.

Duskfade leans hard into its Kingdom Hearts influence, and it lets you wear that on your sleeve with two cosmetic unlocks: the Shared Memories skin for Zirian’s sword, the Minutero, and the World Hopper recolor for his outfit that turns him into a stand-in for Sora. Both are optional, both come from town shopkeepers, and both are gated behind abilities you pick up later in the game.

Quick answer: Buy the Rainbow Ingot from the shopkeeper in central Tick Town and equip the Shared Memories skin at the Blacksmith’s anvil (needs the grappling hook). For the outfit, get a Flask of Dye, unlock the Pendulum, then buy the World Hopper color from Tailord after smashing the orange crystal below the “Hills” sign near the teleporter.

Requirements for both Kingdom Hearts skins

Each skin has its own material and its own ability gate. You can grab the materials early, but you cannot apply either skin until you have the matching traversal ability. Here is what each one needs.

SkinMaterial neededAbility gateWhere to apply it
Shared Memories (Keyblade sword skin)Rainbow IngotGrappling hookBlacksmith’s anvil, Tick Town
World Hopper (Sora outfit)Flask of DyePendulumTailord’s shop, Tick Town

The grappling hook is found toward the end of the first world. The Pendulum, which lets you break orange crystals, is unlocked near the end of the Underwater Academy. You need to reach both points in the story before either skin can be equipped.

Unlock the Shared Memories Keyblade sword skin

Head to the shopkeeper in central Tick Town, near the teleportation device. Buy the Rainbow Ingot. It is cheap, so you should have enough currency without any grinding.

Progress through the first world until you unlock the grappling hook. You cannot apply the sword skin without it, so buying the ingot early just banks the material for later.
Return to Tick Town and walk toward the Inn. Just before you reach it, turn right and grapple across the gap to land at the Blacksmith’s anvil, where you can customize the Minutero.
At the anvil, select the Shared Memories skin and equip it. The Minutero now takes on the Keyblade-style look.

Unlock the World Hopper Sora outfit for Zirian

Get a Flask of Dye. It shows up as the Multicolored Flask when you first pick one up, and copies are scattered throughout the world. If you would rather not search, buy one from the Tick Town shopkeeper.

Keep playing until you reach the Underwater Academy and unlock the Pendulum, which breaks orange crystals. The outfit shop’s owner, Tailord, is also found here. After you meet him, he returns to Tick Town.
Back in Tick Town, go to the teleporter and find the sign that reads “Hills.” Smash the orange crystal directly below it with the Pendulum to open the path to Tailord.

Talk to Tailord and buy the World Hopper color for Zirian’s base outfit in exchange for a Flask of Dye and some crystals. Because the Sora look is just a recolor of the base outfit, it is available right away and does not require finding one of Tailord’s kittens.

How to confirm both skins are equipped

The sword skin is applied when the Minutero shows the Shared Memories look after you select it at the anvil. The outfit is applied once you purchase and equip the World Hopper color, which swaps Zirian’s base outfit for the red-leaning Sora recolor. With both active, you are wearing the full Kingdom Hearts loadout at the same time.

Note: If a skin will not equip, it is almost always the ability gate. The sword skin needs the grappling hook to even reach the Blacksmith’s anvil, and the outfit needs the Pendulum to break the crystal that opens Tailord’s shop. Owning the Rainbow Ingot or Flask of Dye alone is not enough.

One detail worth noting for fans: Zirian’s Sora recolor draws more from Dream Drop Distance than the mainline games, with the heavier use of red giving that away.
