EA FC 27 launches worldwide on September 25, 2026, and for the first time the series splits into three paid tiers instead of two. Standard sits at $69.99, Ultimate holds the middle at $99.99, and the brand-new Ultimate Plus tops the range at $149.99. The Plus tier is the one causing the most debate, mostly because it carries a hard buying deadline and stacks up Ultimate Team rewards you cannot claim any other way.
Quick answer: Buy Ultimate Plus before August 31, 2026 only if you plan to grind Ultimate Team all year. If you play FUT casually or mostly stick to Career Mode and Kick-Off, the $99.99 Ultimate or the $69.99 Standard covers what you need.

Every tier also carries Career Mode and The Grounds pre-order bonuses, including pre-order challenges, three ICONs/Heroes, a 5-Star Coach, youth scouts, the Signature Sweatsuit, a Tier 3 Amp inspired by Mbappé, and 2x AXP consumables for 10 matches. The Ultimate Plus deadline: August 31, 2026
Ultimate Plus is a limited window purchase. It is available only during the early pre-order period, and it disappears after August 31, 2026. You cannot buy it later, and you cannot upgrade into it from another edition once that date passes. If the Plus perks matter to you, the decision has to happen before then.
Its 7 days of early access begin on September 18, 2026, a full week ahead of the global launch. The Hall of FUT Direct Player Pick lets you choose one of five items: Adebayo Akinfenwa, Giovani dos Santos, Loïc Rémy, Marouane Fellaini, or Eljero Elia. The 85+ International ICON item and the FC 26 bonuses are available immediately once redeemed.
Ultimate vs Ultimate Plus: the extra $50 breakdown
Both premium tiers share the same early access window, the 85+ International ICON, and one extra Evolution slot. The gap between them is the $50 you pay to move from Ultimate to Ultimate Plus, and here is exactly what that money buys.

The season passes are the clearest value case. Each premium pass normally costs about $10 in FC Points, or roughly 500,000 FUT coins, and building that many coins early in a new cycle is slow going. Four extra passes alone would run about $40 if you bought them separately, so paying $50 more also folds in 4,000 additional FC Points and the Hall of FUT pick on top.
How the FC Points arrive
FC Points are not dropped in one lump. Your first 2,000 land on your first login, and the rest arrive in 2,000-point drops on the 15th of each following month.
- Ultimate (6,000 total): spread across three monthly drops.
- Ultimate Plus (10,000 total): spread across five monthly drops.
Note: for Ultimate Plus you must complete the first FC Points distribution by June 1, 2027 to receive the full 10,000. If you redeem after September 26, 2027, you forfeit the FC Points entirely.

Which edition to buy
Ultimate Plus makes sense for players who live in Ultimate Team year-round. The five season passes and 10,000 FC Points give real long-term value, and the math works out favorably against buying those passes and points separately. The catch is commitment. If you tend to drift away from FUT after a couple of months, the extra passes and delayed points lose their worth.
Ultimate remains the best balance for most serious FUT players. You get the 7-day head start, 6,000 FC Points, an 85+ ICON, and an extra Evolution slot without stretching to the top price. For anyone who wants a strong launch start but does not want to pre-pay for five seasons, this is the sweet spot.
Standard is the right pick if you mostly play Career Mode, Clubs, or Kick-Off. You still get every mode plus a handful of Career and Grounds bonuses, and none of the missing Ultimate Team perks will change how you play.
If you are undecided, EA is also releasing FC 27 Lite on September 25, a free, limited preview with modes like Kick-Off that can later be upgraded to the full game. That gives you a way to test the gameplay before committing money to any tier, though it will not help you decide on Ultimate Plus, since that window closes on August 31.
