The Empire Avenue Fast Travel Door sits in the middle of a street on the far side of the West Incursion Zone, below the Theatre Hall and just past the Atlantis diner. Reaching it during The West Incursion Zone Resonant means crossing a stretch of gravity-warped rooftops that only the Shift ability can clear, then dropping down into the Empire Avenue subway and coming out on the other side.
Quick answer: From the West Incursion Zone Checkpoint, Shift across the rooftops northeast toward the EMPIRE marquee, drop to the subway stairs, walk through Empire Avenue Station, and the door stands in the road past the Atlantis diner.
What you need before the route
The Shift ability is mandatory. It realigns your gravity so you can cross the chasms and jump between the distorted buildings between the checkpoint and Empire Avenue. Without it, the gaps on this rooftop path cannot be closed.
Shift movement ability unlocked (granted by the Fault earlier in the quest).
Access to the West Incursion Zone Checkpoint, west of the Field Office.
Enemies at the checkpoint cleared so you can climb onto the rooftops.
The West Incursion Zone Checkpoint Memo sits on the counter in the registration office as you head in, if you want the collectible before you climb out onto the street.
Start on the rooftop near the West Incursion Zone Checkpoint and open the map to line up the checkpoint with the door marker. Your path runs northeast across the rooftops.
When you reach the street painted CHASM AHEAD, drop down to the left onto the metal scaffolding covered in graffiti. Vault across the scaffolding and ledges to continue.
Leap across the hanging platforms and fire escapes to reach the next rooftop, where the Shanower’s Recon Report audio log is cataloged. Grab it before you push into the more heavily distorted area.
Traverse the floating, refracted building sections filled with frozen Hiss figures. Aim for the illuminated EMPIRE sign and the theater marquee reading “PRETTY MUCH SOLD OUT 5-8 PM.”
Beneath the marquee, descend to the theater doorway. The West Incursion Zone Observations document lies on the pavement immediately before the subway staircase.
Descend the staircase into Empire Avenue Station and walk straight through the transit corridor. A Health Elements Boost sits in the side room, “Jimmy’s Books – Comics Galore,” on the left if you want it.
Take the staircase at the corridor’s distant end to reach the upside-down street warped by gravity. An openable resource box is located inside the Atlantis diner here.
Follow the white arrows along the main road. In the street’s center, immediately in front of Atlantis, is the freestanding Fast Travel Door.

How to confirm the door is unlocked
Walk up to the illuminated door in the road and the L1 Fast Travel prompt appears. Interacting with it registers the Empire Avenue point, so it shows on the map and can be used to travel back to this spot from anywhere else with a Fast Travel Door.
