Enshrouded’s 1.0 story concludes when you defeat Vorgoth within The Ancient Citadel, perched atop Cinder’s Cradle’s floating isles, then commune with the Flame and watch an illustrated outro. The ending doesn’t end your world: you remain in Embervale with your character and base, and your open quests carry on as before.
How the Vorgoth ending plays out

That completion message is how you confirm the main story is done. The quest tracker then moves on to your next open quest.

Add to Google Preferences →Flame Level 11 and Shroud removal
Defeating the greatest threat grants access to one more Flame tier: level 11, the final upgrade. It enables Shroud Removal, allowing Flame Altars to push the Shroud back, and increases the Flame Altar cap from 15 to 16.
The upgrade at the Flame Altar asks for the following:
| Requirement | Amount |
|---|---|
| Survivors with Sheltered Beds | 18 |
| Spark | 20 |
| Celestium Bars | 10 |
| Moonstone | 15 |
| Diamond Dust | 20 |
| Ember Carapace | 15 |
| Vorgoth’s Bound Essence | 1 |
| Vorgoth’s Eye | 1 |
You can also lower the Flame tier requirement for altar-based Shroud removal in the world settings, without first reaching Flame Level 11.
Red “Deadly Shroud” areas still appear on the world map even at Flame Level 11, and there is no known way through them at this point.
What Vorgoth's drops craft
Vorgoth’s Armor is the five-piece Vorgoth’s Soulbound set, crafted at Loraine Crim, the Ancient Researcher. Each piece takes 1 Vorgoth’s Bound Essence, and the Flame Level 11 upgrade takes 1 more, so spare Bound Essence goes straight into this set.
| Item | Rarity | Recipe at the Ancient Researcher |
|---|---|---|
| Legendary | 8 Magma Gel + 6 Moonstone + 1 Celestium Bars + 1 Vorgoth's Bound Essence → 1 | |
| Legendary | 2 Iron Dust + 1 Celestium Bars + 1 Archaic Infusion + 1 Bursting Fell Heart + 1 Vorgoth's Bound Essence → 1 | |
| Legendary | 5 Magma Gel + 1 Celestium Bars + 4 Ember Carapace + 1 Vorgoth's Bound Essence → 1 | |
| Legendary | 5 Fabric + 6 Archaic Shards + 1 Celestium Bars + 10 Active Mycelium + 1 Vorgoth's Bound Essence → 1 | |
| Legendary | 3 Diamond + 2 Celestium Bars + 1 Sparkling Dust + 1 Vorgoth's Bound Essence → 1 | |
| Legendary | 6 Diamond + 3 Steel Bars + 4 Celestium Bars + 2 Vorgoth's Bound Essence → 1 |
The Shroud Vessel’s Greatsword drops from Vorgoth and can also be crafted there. Spare Vorgoth’s Eyes go into trophies at the Hunter (needs the Table Saw upgrade): Vorgoth's Eye Trophy (2 Nails + 2 Wood Planks + 1 Vorgoth’s Eye); Bronze Vorgoth's Eye Trophy (2 Nails + 1 Bronze Bars + 2 Wood Planks + 2 Vorgoth’s Eye); Iron Vorgoth's Eye Trophy (2 Nails + 1 Iron Bars + 2 Wood Planks + 3 Vorgoth’s Eye); Gold Vorgoth's Eye Trophy (2 Nails + 1 Gold Bars + 2 Wood Planks + 4 Vorgoth’s Eye).
What there is to do after the ending
Because you keep the same world, the ending opens the last Flame tier rather than stopping the game. Several things stay open:
- Craft Vorgoth’s Armor using Vorgoth’s Bound Essence. The description says, “Certain protection demands something personal. Use this bound essence to craft Vorgoth’s Armor.”
- After unlocking them, revisit the intro and outro slides through the journal.
- Keep creating with Sparkworks and putting it to use; its tools let you build arenas, puzzles, and traps.
The developer frames the story of Embervale as “concluded – for now”, so defeating Vorgoth marks the end of the 1.0 main story rather than the end of what you can do in your world.
