The Epic Games Store is handing out Calico and Lonestar on PC this week, with Northgard available separately through the mobile storefront. All three are free to add to your account until the next rotation arrives, and once they are in your library they stay there permanently.
What's free on the Epic Games Store this week (May 28 – June 4)
This rotation pairs a relaxing life sim with a strategy roguelike on PC, then adds a Norse-themed strategy title for phones. Both are rated E for Everyone, and each is a single-player experience.
| Game | Platform | Normal price | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| Calico | PC and Mac | $11.99 | Cat café life sim |
| Lonestar | PC only | $12.99 | Roguelike spaceship deckbuilder |
| Northgard | Mobile (Android in US, iOS in EU) | — | Norse strategy / colony management |
Calico (PC and Mac)

Calico puts you in charge of rebuilding and running a cat café in a community full of magical girls and other characters. You decorate the shop, bake food and drinks for customers, and befriend animals that can live in the café or follow you around as companions.
The game leans into its cozy, hand-drawn pastel art style, and includes playful magical touches such as potions that grow animals large enough to ride. It is single-player and family-friendly, normally priced at $11.99.
Lonestar (PC)

Lonestar is a strategic roguelike spaceship deckbuilder. You play a bounty hunter working for an organization called the Association, choosing a ship, tracking down wanted criminals, and collecting new units and treasures as you go.
Combat centers on turn-based shockwave battles where both sides build power before clashing, and you can unlock different ships, pilots, talents, and modules to shape each run. It normally costs $12.99 and includes 46 achievements.
Northgard (mobile)
Northgard is a Norse mythology strategy game with strong colony-management elements, in the vein of Age of Empires. You lead a clan of Vikings settling a hostile new continent, assigning them roles such as Farmer, Warrior, and Sailor while managing resources and expanding territory toward one of several victory conditions.
It includes a story mode and multiplayer for up to six players, with Duel, Free for All, and Teamplay options. Nine clan DLC add-ons exist if you want more variety after the free version. On the Epic Games Store mobile app, it is available to Android players in the US and iOS players in the EU.
How to claim the free PC games
Step 1: Sign in to your free Epic Games account. Two-factor authentication must be enabled before you can complete any free claim.
Step 2: Open the Epic Games Store free games page in the launcher or a browser, then locate Calico and Lonestar.
Step 3: Select Get on each game's page and confirm the checkout. The price will show as $0.00, and you will receive a confirmation email once the title is attached to your library for good.
You will know it worked when the game moves into your library and the store page switches from a Get button to an In Library state. Claiming does not require a download, so you can secure both even on a low-spec machine and install them later.
How to claim Northgard on mobile
The Epic Games Store mobile app is not distributed through the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store, so you install it directly. Scan the official mobile download QR code with your phone's camera, which opens the install page.
You will need to allow installs from sources other than your device's default store. After installing, launch the app, sign in with the same Epic account, and scroll to the current free game to claim Northgard.
Claim deadline and release timing
New free games drop every Thursday at 8:00 AM PT / 11:00 AM ET, which is when the current lineup is replaced. That means Calico, Lonestar, and Northgard must be claimed before the cutoff on June 4, 2026. After that, they leave the free slot and the next titles take over.
Epic has not revealed the next set of free games yet, so the lineup following June 4 remains unannounced. Until then, the safest move is to claim everything in the current rotation now, since adding a title to your library costs nothing and locks it in permanently.
