Your roster decides how far you get in Ever Night: Reawakening. The idle RPG hands you more than 50 Guardians across Legend and Epic rarities, and the gap between a carry unit and a bench-warmer only widens once you push past the early campaign into Eternal stages. The ranking below sorts every meta-relevant Guardian by damage, support value, crowd control, and how well each one holds up in late-game fights.
Quick answer: Build your team around Heru, Elizabeth, Victor, Captain Ael, Chrysto, Misa, Andora, and Selene. These are the S-tier Guardians that stay useful in every mode, and any one of them is worth rerolling for on a new account.
Full Guardian tier list
Rankings reflect the current August 2026 meta. No single faction wins everything: Solar and Freeze units are strong early, while other factions pull ahead once you build around their synergies.
| Tier | Guardians |
|---|---|
| S | Heru, Elizabeth, Victor, Captain Ael, Chrysto, Misa, Andora, Selene |
| A | Leon, Yolen, Hyacinth, Matthew, Kent, Eve, Berry, May, Hannock, Bokie, Icarus, Alyssa |
| B | Sharon, Sheele, Melissa, Isa, Sycamore, Nydia, Nat, Reyna, Lucia, Stella |
| C | Fenix, Chessia, Bjorn, Floki, Redick, Helen |
How this was ranked: each Guardian was weighed on damage output, support and healing value, debuff and crowd-control reliability, survivability, and late-game scaling rather than rarity alone.

Add to Google Preferences →Why the S-tier Guardians carry teams
The top tier is built on units that do their job at every stage and keep working when enemies start hitting hard. Two of them, Andora and Selene, are Epic-rarity Guardians that perform like Legends, which makes them realistic targets even without heavy pulls.
| Guardian | Rarity | What makes it S-tier |
|---|---|---|
| Heru | Legend | Grants Invincibility frames to two allies to prevent fatal damage, buffs their damage, and turns an enemy into a zombie before triggering an AoE explosion. |
| Elizabeth | Legend | Heals three allies between battles and revives a fallen unit with a large chunk of HP, reversing fights outright. The game’s best healer. |
| Victor | Legend | Frontline tank whose damage scales with enemy count, blocks incoming hits, applies Silence, and sustains himself with Lifesteal between fights. |
| Captain Ael | Legend | Raises Block Rate for the whole team, takes personal damage reduction, and still deals True Damage with Stun. The most well-rounded frontline available. |
| Chrysto | Legend | Applies Vulnerable to frontline enemies and summons spirits for follow-up attacks; her Skill 3 scales with how many follow-ups land. |
| Misa | Legend | Heals the lowest-HP allies while attacking, applies Vulnerable, and cleanses crowd control from herself and the team. |
| Andora | Epic | Hits all frontline enemies and multiplies her damage against debuffed targets, scaling with each debuff stack. Ideal in status-effect teams. |
| Selene | Epic | Combines healing, offensive buffs, and CC removal on the center back-row ally in a single flexible slot. |
A-tier: strong picks with one catch
A-tier Guardians will carry you through most content, but each has a limitation that keeps it out of the top group. Hyacinth opens with a 48% damage bonus that decays 16% per turn, so she shreds bosses fast but fades in long fights. Kent leans entirely on his Wolf transformation for Crit Rate and Crit Damage, and drops off sharply once it ends. Eve is a pure healer with almost no personal damage, while Berry’s True Damage Poison is deadly but leaves her squishy without a dedicated healer behind her.
Leon and Yolen sit at the top of this group as support anchors: Leon shields the whole team and can Stun, and Yolen heals your highest-Attack carry while cutting enemy crit resistance. Matthew steals 30% of a target’s Attack, Hannock deletes the highest-Attack enemy but falls off late, and Alyssa’s Stun is powerful when it triggers but RNG-dependent.
B-tier: fine for progression, replaced later
B-tier units clear early and mid-game content comfortably, then struggle to keep pace. Sharon and Lilia-style Freeze pressure works well in crowd-control comps, and Sheele blankets every enemy with Burn, though long cooldowns limit her uptime. Melissa hits hard on single targets but needs support to stay alive, Nydia depends on Draconic Form, and Nat’s Burn damage stops scaling once stronger units arrive. Reyna’s healing plus True Damage Burn is handy for newer accounts but lacks late-game impact.
C-tier: early-game only
These Guardians can fill a slot while you build, but plan to swap them out. Fenix relies on Crit Rate and brings no utility. Chessia only shines against Burning enemies and needs consistent Burn setup to function. Bjorn’s summoned unit absorbs some AoE but is outclassed by stronger tanks, Floki’s Freeze is wasted by his low damage, and Redick’s long cooldowns and weak offense make him hard to justify over other frontliners. Helen’s chance-based Freeze and low scaling keep her at the bottom too.
Best Guardians to reroll for
On a fresh or reroll account, target one of these first. They give the strongest mix of damage, healing, and survivability for both early and late content.
- Heru
- Elizabeth
- Captain Ael
- Victor
- Chrysto
The reroll loop itself is quick. Here is the sequence.
You will know the reroll worked when the S-tier Guardian appears in your summon results screen and lands in your roster on the new server.
Investment matters as much as placement here. A B-tier or C-tier unit is fine while you push campaign stages, but pour your resources into the S-tier core and the Epic standouts Andora and Selene, and pair debuff appliers with damage dealers who punish those debuffs. The meta rewards versatile support and units that scale, so build toward the top of the list and the darkness gets a lot easier to clear.
