Crafting in LumenTale: Memories of Trey happens at the Fountains dotted along the routes between Talea's cities. Step up to one and you can cook food, build catching tools, brew recovery items, and throw random ingredients together to see what sticks. Dishes do far more than heal — they shift movement speed, push battle stats, raise affection, and hand out big chunks of EXP. With more than 120 food recipes plus a stack of item designs, knowing the exact ingredient counts saves you from wasting hard-won materials.
How crafting and cooking work at Fountains
Open the crafting menu at a Fountain and you get two paths. Pick a recipe you already know and have the ingredients for, or choose Experiment to toss ingredients into the pot and gamble on the result. Experimenting lets you make things without owning the recipe sheet, but it carries real risk.
Experimenting needs the right minimum quantities. To make Pane without the recipe, for example, you have to add at least 3 Flour and 2 Salt. Drop below that and the create button stays greyed out. If your selected ingredients don't match any dish, nothing happens. If they do match, you either succeed or fail and lose everything you added.
Succeeding through Experiment does not automatically log the recipe. Cook the same combination enough times through the experiment menu and the game eventually adds it to your known recipes, where it will show up the next time you cook.
Each party member has different odds at the pot, so cycle through them before you commit. Trey is the strongest cook, Ales is the inventor who excels at items like Bilia, and Nada covers potions, dispels, and other utility work. Always pick the character with the highest displayed percentage to cut the chance of losing ingredients.

Where to get recipes in LumenTale
Recipes come from several places, so you don't have to rely on a single shop. City vendors sell them, including BoomBoom's Fantastic Gastronomic Arena in Voltar. You can also spot recipe sheets in the overworld as gold sparkling points on the ground.

You don't actually need the recipe to see which ingredients a dish uses — the description hints at that. What the recipe adds is the precise count for each item, which removes the guesswork. You can also reverse-engineer a dish from its description, though that takes trial and error.
The notice board in Lumen Clubs occasionally posts clues for specific dishes. The board shows the ingredients as images, and you work out how many of each to use yourself.

Most ingredients come from city vendors. Items like Grapes and Potatoes appear on routes as light yellow sparkling spots, usually in clusters of three. Cheese, Chocolate, and Milk turn up at city grocers and inside crates you can smash with your Holoken.

How to know a craft worked and why it can fail
A successful craft drops the finished dish or item straight into your inventory. When you experiment your way to a dish you don't own yet, the recipe doesn't lock in immediately. Repeat that same combination enough times through Experiment and it gets added to your known recipe list, ready to cook directly next time.
Failures come down to a few clear causes. The create button stays greyed out if you add fewer than the minimum ingredients a dish requires. If your selection doesn't match any valid recipe, you can't make anything at all. And even with the correct combination, a low success chance can fail the craft and consume every ingredient you put in, which is why switching to the character with the highest percentage matters before you confirm.
Since recipe discoveries are ongoing, expect the full count to keep climbing past the 120-plus dishes already in the system. Stock up on base items like Pane and Pasta, keep Anivite and Glass on hand for Bilia, and you'll always have something worth cooking the next time you reach a Fountain.
