Every Man of Honor Challenge in Mafia: The Old Country and How to Complete It

The five Salieri Challenges cover combat, stealth, and racing, and here is exactly what each one asks of you.

The five Salieri Challenges cover combat, stealth, and racing, and here is exactly what each one asks of you.

The Man of Honor expansion for Mafia: The Old Country hands Free Ride mode a new source of work in the form of Ennio Salieri, and his Challenges are the hardest optional content the DLC adds. There are five of them, spanning shootouts, silent kills, and three different flavors of racing. Some fall on the first try, while others are built to punish sloppy driving and loud gunplay.

Quick answer: Salieri’s five Challenges are Standoffs, Assassinations, Circuit Races, Road Sprints, and Time Trials. Pick them up from Salieri’s warehouse in Porto Almaro in Free Ride mode, then clear each objective (survive every wave, kill the target unseen, or beat the clock or your rivals) to complete it.

What you need before the Challenges appear

The Challenges live entirely in Free Ride mode, and Salieri is your point of contact for all of them. He sets up in a warehouse in Porto Almaro, where he also hands out Jobs. You cannot access this content on the base game alone.

  • Own the paid Man of Honor DLC on the same platform as Mafia: The Old Country.
  • Reach Free Ride mode, then travel to Salieri’s warehouse in Porto Almaro to accept his contracts.
  • Expect higher difficulty than the standard Free Ride Challenges. Salieri’s versions are tuned to test how well you handle early-1900s cars and weapons.

If you want on-map help finding a Challenge, the August 14, 2026 update added a Map Pinning feature to Free Ride, so you can pin a Challenge from the map and get an objective marker in the world.

All five Salieri Challenges and how to complete them

Each Challenge has one clear win condition. Combat asks you to stay alive and clear every enemy, stealth asks you to stay hidden, and the three racing types come down to either finishing first or beating a time. The table below breaks down what each one requires.

ChallengeTypeHow to complete it
StandoffsCombatHold your ground through several waves of enemies and take out every last opponent to clear it.
AssassinationsStealthLocate the assigned target and kill them without alerting the guards. Stay in the shadows and skip any fight you can avoid.
Circuit RacesRacingPick a fast car and finish the set number of laps ahead of your rivals to take the win.
Road SprintsRacingRace point to point across the Valle Dorata and cross the finish line before the other drivers.
Time TrialsRacingRun the course as fast as you can and beat the target time or your own previous best.

Note: Standoffs and Assassinations reward opposite playstyles. In a Standoff you want stopping power and cover, while an Assassination fails the moment guards spot you. The three race types are separated by shape. Circuit Races loop, Road Sprints run from one marker to another, and Time Trials remove rivals entirely and put a clock in their place.

What completing Challenges unlocks

Clearing Salieri’s Free Ride content pays out exclusive rewards from the expansion. Working through the Challenges and Jobs unlocks new weapons, Charms, outfits, vehicles, horses, and hats that only exist in Man of Honor, and it feeds into the DLC’s Achievements and Trophies. The full item set added by the expansion is listed below.

CategoryNew items
GunsModello Speciale, High-Capacity Pump-Action Shotgun, Praecisione Speciale
KnivesFinituri, Giravolta, Rimbalzu
CharmsDolce Morte, Scossa, Rifugio, Portata, Scheggia
VehiclesTrautenberg Model SW, Delizia Tempesta, Dufort 30 Deluxe
HorsesSilvano, Fiero
OutfitsDockside Enforcer, High Roller, Woodsman
HatsDockside Coppola, High Roller Fedora, Bowler, Wide-Brimmed Fedora, Woodsman Fedora

The Rimbalzu throwing knife is worth chasing if you lean stealthy, since it ricochets to a second target so you can quiet two enemies in quick succession. That kind of edge helps directly with the tougher Assassination and Standoff Challenges.

Beyond the Challenges, Salieri also lines up Jobs that put you into safe cracking, high-value car theft, and hauling stolen goods for extra Dinari, plus optional Wanted Posters, Stunt Jumps, and destructible sulphur trucks scattered across the Valle Dorata. Running through the whole set takes only a few hours, so it is a reasonable target if you want full completion. Standoffs and Assassinations reward patience and clean execution, while the three races come down to car choice and knowing the route, and once you have all five cleared the exclusive gear is yours to keep.
