Mutations are the fastest way to turn a mediocre base into a money machine in Climb and Drop a Lucky Block. When you open a Lucky Block, the brainrot inside can spawn with a special effect that multiplies both its sale value and how much cash it earns per second. Stack enough of these on your base and you can afford the top Pull Bars far sooner.
Quick answer: There are six mutations. Gold (2x), Diamond (3x), Galaxy (4x), Lava (5x), and Rainbow (6x) can roll naturally when you open a Lucky Block. Hacker cannot roll naturally and only comes from the Admin Abuse event or the Guaranteed Hacker Mutations Lucky Block in the Store.
All six mutations and their multipliers
Every mutation applies the same multiplier to two stats at once. It raises the price you get when you sell the brainrot, and it raises the income the brainrot generates while placed on your base. Higher multipliers are rarer, so the biggest boosts also show up the least often.
| Mutation | Effect on sale value and earning rate |
|---|---|
| Gold | 2x |
| Diamond | 3x |
| Galaxy | 4x |
| Lava | 5x |
| Rainbow | 6x |
| Hacker | Highest in the game (exact value not yet confirmed) |
Hacker sits at the top of the pile. It applies the largest value and money multiplier of any mutation, which is why it is treated as the best one to chase even though its precise number has not been listed yet.

The five natural mutations all come from the same loop. Climb the metal truss as high as your stamina allows, jump down to open a Lucky Block, and there is a chance the brainrot that appears carries a mutation. Nothing extra is required beyond opening blocks.
Gold and Diamond turn up more often than Galaxy, Lava, and Rainbow. That tracks with their lower multipliers, so expect plenty of 2x and 3x rolls before a 6x Rainbow lands. You know a mutation hit because it shows on the brainrot when it spawns and is recorded in your Index.
Hacker breaks that pattern entirely. It never appears from a normal Lucky Block roll. You can only get it during the Admin Abuse event, or by buying the Guaranteed Hacker Mutations Lucky Block from the Store.
How to roll mutations more often
Your luck stat drives your mutation odds. Raising luck improves the chance of both rarer brainrots and mutations landing on them. Three things push that number up.
- Buy better Lucky Blocks, which grant higher luck and hand out more Lucky Block pieces per sale.
- Use the Climbing Luck Potion to boost your luck for the run.
- Make as many jumps as possible during luck-boosting weather, when the odds are temporarily higher.
Climbing higher matters too. Better climbs produce better brainrots when you jump, and a high-rarity brainrot carrying a mutation is where the real income comes from.
Common questions about mutations
Can a brainrot have more than one mutation?
No. A brainrot spawns with a single mutation at most, and there is no way to add a second one afterward.
Which mutation is the best?
Hacker, because it carries the highest value and money multiplier. It is also the hardest to obtain, since it is locked to the Admin Abuse event and the Guaranteed Hacker Mutations Lucky Block.
Does higher luck really help mutations?
Yes. Raising your luck lifts your mutation luck as well, so the same upgrades that help you find rarer brainrots also improve your odds of those brainrots spawning mutated.
If you are grinding toward the top Pull Bars, prioritize filling your base with mutated brainrots and keep your luck as high as you can before each jump. The multipliers compound quickly once several of them are earning at once.
