The three Update 1 weather events, their exact multipliers, five-minute timers, and how the rotation cycles.

Weather events in Be The Final Boss are timed map modifiers that change how much you earn or how your summons behave. As of Update 1, there are three of them: Gold Rush, Shard Storm, and Cursed Moon. Each one runs for five minutes, applies a single measurable bonus, and then hands off to the next after a fixed gap.

Quick answer: Gold Rush multiplies coin drops from kills by 1.75x, Shard Storm multiplies Shard drop chance by 1.3x with one extra drop attempt, and Cursed Moon multiplies summon mutation chance by 2x. All three last five minutes, and a new event begins 10 minutes after the previous one ends.

All three weather events and what they do

Every event pairs a gameplay effect with a visible cosmetic change, so you can tell which one is active at a glance without opening a menu. The table below lists the exact multipliers and what each event is worth focusing on.

EventEffectCosmeticBest use
Gold RushCoins from enemy kills multiplied by 1.75xGold coins rain from the skyFarming Coins
Shard StormShard drop chance multiplied by 1.3x, plus 1 extra drop attemptWeather box turns blue, shards fly across the mapFarming Fusion Shards
Cursed MoonTotal summon mutation chance multiplied by 2xWeather box turns purple, shooting stars appearRolling mutated units

All three run for the same five-minute window, so the difference between them is purely what they reward. Gold Rush and Shard Storm both reward active kills, while Cursed Moon rewards summoning rather than fighting.

How the weather rotation and timer work

Weather is not constant. Each event lasts five minutes, and once it ends, there is a 10-minute pause before the next event starts. During that gap, the map returns to its normal state with no active bonus, so timing your farming around an active event matters.

You can confirm the current event and how long it has left in the bottom-right corner of the screen, which shows both the active weather and a countdown timer. Watch that timer so you know whether it is worth committing to a farm or waiting for the right event.

Getting the most out of each event

Because the bonuses tie directly to kills or summons, your behavior should change the moment the weather shifts.

  • Gold Rush: Push into fights alongside your units to rack up kills while the 1.75x coin multiplier is live. Every enemy you help clear pays more during the window.
  • Shard Storm: Stay in combat and stack kills to farm Fusion Shards of all rarities, since the event adds an extra drop attempt on top of the 1.3x chance.
  • Cursed Moon: Let your units handle the waves and spend your attention on summoning, because the doubled mutation chance only pays off on units you roll during the five minutes.

Note: The effects apply only while the event is active. Once the five-minute timer runs out, the multiplier disappears until that event cycles back around, so any summon or kill outside the window is credited at the normal rate.

The three events cover the game’s core economies of Coins, Fusion Shards, and unit mutations, which makes reacting to the current weather one of the simplest ways to speed up progress. Keep an eye on the corner timer, match your activity to whichever bonus is live, and expect the roster to grow as future updates add more events.
