Breeding is still the fastest way to build a roster of strong Pals in Palworld, and the 1.0 launch leaves the basic loop untouched while reworking almost everything around it. You pair a male and a female, feed them a cake, and hatch the egg, but the recipes, the tools, and the payoff have all shifted.

The breeding loop that stayed the same
The fundamentals carry over from Early Access. You need a Breeding Farm, one male and one female Pal, a cake, and an Egg Incubator. Put the two Pals in the farm, drop a cake in its feed chest, and they produce an egg. Move that egg to an incubator to hatch it.

A basic cake still needs flour, milk, eggs, honey, and red berries, so a working ranch with a mill and some food Pals makes breeding far less of a grind. One cake produces one egg, then you feed the pair again.

The biggest change is to the recipe list itself. Pocketpair reviewed breeding combinations so that powerful Pals now sit later in progression, which means the old shortcuts to top-tier creatures are gone. Breeding two easily caught Pals like Penking and Bushi no longer hands you an Anubis, one of the best handiwork Pals. That pairing now produces the new Pal Sibelyx instead.
Anubis is still breedable through plenty of other pairs, just not by that classic route. With more than 70 new Pals slotted into the hidden breeding-power order, many familiar combinations now land on a different result. Any recipe list written for Early Access will steer you wrong on those.
The tower bosses got the sharpest change. Faleris, Shadowbeak, Grizzbolt, Orserk, and Lyleen used to be fused from mixed pairs, such as Vanwyrm + Anubis for Faleris or Kitsun + Astegon for Shadowbeak. Those fusions are removed. In 1.0 these bosses breed true only, meaning you need two of the same to make one, exactly like the legendaries Frostallion, Jetragon, Paladius, and Necromus.
Note: Under the averaging system, a child’s rarity always lands between its two parents, so you can never breed a Pal rarer than your rarest parent outside of the fixed special combos below.
The Ancient Hatchery, a fully automated breeding farm
The new endgame structure is the Ancient Hatchery, unlocked late in the tech tree. It automates the whole process from egg production to incubation at high speed and raises the inheritance rate of rare skills. Eggs never need to be picked up and moved, incubation is near instant, and the facility needs minimal pasture space thanks to hologram-managed Pals.
It holds up to 10 egg slots at once, and buttons to Set all eggs and Collect all hatched Pals let you clear a full batch in one action. Building it takes heavy endgame materials, including Paloxite Ingot, AI Core, Ancient Civilization Parts, and Ancient Civilization Core.
Four new cakes and what they do
Beyond the standard cake, 1.0 adds four higher-tier cakes that change the egg you get. Each is placed in the Breeding Farm chest and each unlocks in the Technology menu for 4 Technology Points.

The ingredients scale with the tier. Mushroom Cake needs flour, mushroom, cavern mushroom, egg, and honey. Vegetable Cake uses flour, tomato, lettuce, egg, and honey. Extravagant Vegetable Cake calls for flour, cotton candy, potato, onion, and carrot. Special Cake is the most demanding, requiring flour, caramel cotton candy, milk, egg, and Mammorest Meat, and it can produce a Pal carrying several top-tier passives at once, such as Swift and Lucky.
New passives and the Dynamoff speedup
A batch of new passive skills feeds directly into breeding output. The standout is Babysitter, which raises both Breeding Speed and Hatching Speed by 30% for a Pal assigned to a Breeding Farm. Stack it with the right structure and you cut a lot of waiting.

The new Electric Pal Dynamoff helps too. Its partner skill, Electro-Massage Incubation, shortens egg incubation time by 20% while it is at your base, rising to 40% at higher skill levels, and the effect does not stack. It also works as a flying mount. Keep it in an active base slot alongside your hatchery for a passive incubation boost.
Mutations, the new breeding payoff
Mutation is the genuinely new breeding feature. There is a small chance a bred Pal hatches stronger than the normal formula result, with higher base stats and a unique passive it could not get any other way. It layers on top of the averaging system rather than creating new cross-species combinations.
A mutated Pal can arrive as an Alpha with a bonus rank and high potential, plus a breeding-exclusive passive and an endgame attack. Hatched examples have shown Legendary passives like Immortality and Heavily Armored on Pals that would never normally carry them. Pocketpair has not published a mutation rate, so treat it as an occasional bonus rather than a number to farm. The higher-tier cakes, especially the Extravagant Vegetable Cake, are the lever for making mutations more likely.
Special combos and same-species Pals
A handful of pairings still ignore the averaging formula and always produce a specific Pal, almost all of them elemental variant forms. Order and gender never matter for these.

Some Pals can only come from two of themselves. That group grew in 1.0 and now covers the legendaries Frostallion, Jetragon, Paladius, Necromus, and the new Neptilius, the true-breeding tower bosses Faleris, Shadowbeak, Grizzbolt, Orserk, and Lyleen, plus Selyne and the new Bastigor. Raid and unique Pals like Bellanoir Libero, Blazamut Ryu, Mimog, and the Xeno line breed true as well, and Chikipi sits at the bottom of the ladder where the formula can never average down to it.

The farm, the cake, and the incubator work exactly as they did, but 1.0 pushes strong Pals deeper into progression, gives you the Ancient Hatchery and better cakes to speed things up, and adds Mutations as the reason to keep hatching.
