The Gem Zero Point Sprite is a Special-rarity, gem-themed version of the Mythic Zero Point Sprite in Fortnite’s Runners season. It keeps the same core defensive ability while adding a fall-damage reduction, and it is one of the hardest Sprite variants to pull because it only appears through Sprite Chests at an extremely low rate.
Quick answer: Open as many Sprite Chests as possible in a match. The Gem Zero Point Sprite drops from Sprite Chests at a 0.00001% chance, and once you have unlocked it you can summon another copy for 10,000 Sprite Dust.

What the Gem Zero Point Sprite does
The Gem variant runs on the same engine as the base Zero Point Sprite. Whenever you use a healing item on yourself, a Shield Bubble Jr. spawns around you, giving you instant cover while you heal. Splashes and grenades do not trigger it. On top of that, the Gem version reduces fall damage by 30%.
The Shield Bubble’s duration grows as you level the Sprite, starting at 6 seconds and reaching 10 seconds at max level. That 6-second window already covers a shield potion, which is why the Sprite is valued so highly in Zero Build, where you cannot throw up a wall to heal safely.

There is no quest, vendor, or guaranteed unlock for this variant. It comes from Sprite Chests, which are the only meaningful source for rare Sprites. Regular chests, blue chests, and relic chests can occasionally give up a Sprite too, but Sprite Chests carry by far the highest odds, so they are where you should focus.
Because the variant is decided the moment the Sprite drops, the only way to raise your chances is to open more Sprite Chests per match. Leveling or mastering a Sprite you already own will never turn it into the Gem version.
Best farming route for Sprite Chests
Prioritize landing spots and travel paths that pass several Sprite Chest locations in a single drop. A high-volume loop that hits multiple named areas keeps you opening chests instead of wandering.

For an even denser run, the Cluster Coast hidden vault is worth a detour. Pick up the Suspicious Duck, a rubber duck in sunglasses, from one of four spots around the mansion (the golden fountain, the indoor pool room, the aquarium, or the outdoor pool). It gives you a Duck Key, which you insert into the display case in the building across from the mansion to open a basement vault packed with extra Sprite Chests.
Extract the Sprite so you keep it
Finding the Sprite is not the same as keeping it. If you are eliminated before extracting, it is gone. As soon as you pick up a Gem Zero Point Sprite, head to an Extraction Site or use a Portable Extractor and complete the extraction. You will know it worked when the “Added to Collection” message appears and the Sprite shows up under the Collection tab in the Sprites menu.
The Gem variant is easy to spot on pickup. Instead of the plain crystal look of the standard Zero Point, it uses a distinct gem-themed design that is visible before you open any menu.

Summoning it with Sprite Dust
Once the Gem Zero Point Sprite is in your Collection, you can summon additional copies for 10,000 Sprite Dust rather than relying on the drop again. Every standard Zero Point Sprite you find along the way is still useful here, since duplicates can be leveled, mastered, or converted into Sprite Dust that funds a summon.
Note: With a Sprite Chest drop rate of 0.00001%, expect a very long grind if you are chasing the Gem variant purely from chests. Opening the highest possible number of Sprite Chests each match, and pooling drops with squadmates through trading, is the only real way to shorten the odds.
