Riding is now the fastest way to cross Evomon’s islands. Since the July 2 update, seven creature families can be mounted and steered across water, air, and land, so you no longer have to wear down your legs hopping between zones on foot. Certain heavy-hitting Evomons can be ridden too, giving you travel options well beyond the standard families.
Quick answer: Catch any rideable Evomon family, add it to your party, then select it as your mount. No saddle or extra item is needed. Flying mounts like Bluebird, Chirppy, and Gempillar matter most because they let you skip Teleport Portals and fly straight between islands.
Every rideable Evomon family and where to catch it
Seven families can currently be ridden, split across flying, water, and land movement. Each one spawns in a specific zone, so you head to the listed location, weaken the creature in battle, and catch it. Wispuff’s exact movement style has not been confirmed yet.
| Evomon Family | Mount Type | Where to Catch |
|---|---|---|
![]() Bluebird | Flying | Raven Ridge |
![]() Chirppy | Flying | Raven Ridge |
![]() Clampip | Water | Petal Pond |
![]() Gempillar | Flying | Canyon Oasis |
![]() Tinkog | Land | Silent Sands |
![]() Stardrift | Land | Shiver Snows |
![]() Wispuff | TBA | Nether Land |
Ride ability is usually tied to a family’s advanced evolution, so you may need to progress an evolution line before the creature can carry you. Gempillar, for example, shows its mount capability on its final form.

The three movement types solve different problems as you explore. Picking the right one depends on where you’re headed and how spread out the map is around you.
- Flying mounts let you leave the ground and jump between islands directly, so you can bypass Teleport Portals entirely and reach elevated spots faster.
- Water mounts make crossing lakes and ponds simple, which helps when you’re reaching areas cut off by water.
- Land mounts give a steady speed boost for grinding quests and roaming new zones on the ground.
If you only chase one type first, make it flying. The map is large, and air travel cuts the most time out of exploration.

Powerful Evomons you can also ride
Beyond the seven families, a few stronger creatures can be ridden as well. Tarragon, Sundercrene, and King of Thunder sit a tier above the everyday mounts and are worth tracking down if you want the best travel options in the game.
Sundercrene is the standout for new players. Head to the Flying Territory area and defeat the King of Flying Boss to earn it as a flying mount. It’s one of the most accessible early flying rides, and a strong first target if you’re just starting out.
How to get a rideable Evomon
There are four reliable ways to add a mount to your party. Most players will lean on catching, but the others fill in the gaps.
Progressing the main quests helps here, since new areas keep unlocking as you advance, and several of those zones are exactly where the rarer rideable families spawn.
How to ride and confirm it works
Riding needs no saddle, gear, or special items. Once a rideable Evomon is in your party, select it as your mount and you’ll immediately start moving as that creature. You’ll know it worked when your character is carried by the Evomon and can use its movement type, whether that’s flight, swimming, or a ground speed boost.
Note: If a family won’t let you ride yet, check its evolution stage. Mount ability is generally locked to more advanced forms, so you may need to evolve the creature further before the option becomes available.
With flying, water, and land options now spread across Raven Ridge, Petal Pond, Canyon Oasis, Silent Sands, Shiver Snows, and Nether Land, there’s a mount to match almost any route you take. Start with a flying family or Sundercrene, and the rest of the map opens up quickly.
