Grounded 2: How to Find the Toxicology Token in Into the Abyss

The Toxicology Token is one of the Ominent trinkets added with the Into the Abyss update for Grounded 2, and it is a body pickup rather than a crafted item. You do not need to fight anything to get it. You only need to reach the right patch of land on the south side of Skunk Pond and search a large piece of blue plastic litter.

Quick answer: Go to the south shore of Skunk Pond, near map coordinates -42° N / 15° E. Enter the large blue plastic brick lying on its side, find the fallen Ominent worker inside, and loot the backpack to claim the Toxicology Token.

The trinket sits on land, not underwater, so you can reach it without the full Diving Suit progression. Head to the south side of Skunk Pond and look for a large blue plastic brick resting on its side near the water’s edge. On the in-game map, the spot lines up with coordinates -42° N / 15° E.

The plastic brick is the marker to aim for. It stands out against the sand and shoreline, and there is an opening you can walk into. Inside is a fallen Ominent employee, and the token is on the body.

How to loot the Toxicology Token

Travel to the south shore of Skunk Pond and move toward the large blue plastic brick lying on its side near -42° N / 15° E. Approach from the land side so you can see the opening.

Enter the brick. Inside you will find the corpse of an Ominent worker slumped in the passage. This is the container that holds the trinket.

Interact with the body and open the backpack. Take the Toxicology Token from the leftovers. It moves straight into your inventory once you grab it.

You will know the pickup worked when the Toxicology Token shows up in your inventory and can be equipped as a trinket. From there you can read its stats and effects directly in the menu.

Toxicology Token effects

The Toxicology Token is a trade-off trinket. It hands you two defensive perks while stripping away part of your venom protection, so it is a situational pick rather than an always-on choice.

Gas Resistance	Reduces incoming gag and gas-type damage.
Dust Guard	Protects against dust-based effects.
Venom Resist Down	Lowers your resistance to venom, making venom attacks hit harder.

When to equip it and what to avoid

The strongest case for the Toxicology Token is fighting enemies that spew gas or gag effects, such as a Stinkbug or Green Shield Bug. In those matchups the resistance keeps you steadier through attacks that would otherwise chip away at your health. The Dust Guard adds a smaller layer of protection against pollen and dust-style effects, though those threats are less common.

The catch is the venom penalty. Because the token lowers venom resistance, creatures that deal venom damage become more dangerous while it is equipped. A Wolf Spider, for example, punishes you harder if it lands hits. Swap the token off before heading into venom-heavy encounters, and treat it as a tool you slot in for specific gag fights rather than a permanent fixture in your loadout.
