Update 2.0: Don’t Lose Your Mind (completed)

Pawlo’s Studio shipped Update 2.0 on July 10, 2026, rolling it out over roughly a 12-hour window starting around 6 a.m. ET (11 a.m. BST, 8 p.m. AEST) and wrapping that evening. The patch added a new sanity meter with real-time visual effects, an intro cutscene and spawn animation, and an exit door that appears once a player’s sanity drops low. Abstracted players now calm down and lose the ability to attack others while sitting in the dark, and staying abstracted too long gets a player sent down to the cellar. The update also added a new bed-abstracting animation, mobile sprint and attack buttons, a new section in the main menu, and a round of bug fixes.

About 8,600 players marked themselves interested before the update landed — a solid turnout for a feature patch rather than a live event, and in line with the scale of the game’s past content drops.
