The Area 41 secret mission in Far Far West is a multi-map symbol puzzle. You interact with a monolith on the southern side of Area 41, gather four glowing purple pillars from other regions, then return and enter the symbols in a fixed order to unlock the Anti-Gravity Falls Joker.
Quick answer: Collect the symbol from Far West, Desert, Canyon, and Woodlands (in that order), return to the Area 41 monolith, rotate each dial to match the symbols left-to-right in that sequence, and press the activation button.

Requirements before starting the Area 41 secret mission
Area 41 must already be unlocked through The Great Marauder Secret quest given by Dr. Spark-Twist on the Desert map. Without that, the monolith is not accessible. You also need to complete a full run that lets you reach Area 41 with enough time to travel between regions, since the symbol pillars sit on four different maps.
The four pillars appear in Far West, Desert, Canyon, and Woodlands. They are tall, glow purple, and each displays a unique symbol with a small row of dots underneath.
How the symbol puzzle works
Interacting with the rock contraption near the southern part of Area 41 reveals a clue mentioning the frontier, the sand, the cliffs, and the trees. Each phrase points to one map, and the order of those phrases is the order in which you must enter the symbols at the monolith.
The dial layout reads left to right. The first dial is the Far West symbol, the second is Desert, the third is Canyon, and the fourth is Woodlands. The actual symbol shapes can vary, so record what you see at each pillar rather than memorizing a fixed glyph.
Clue word to map mapping
| Clue word | Map | Dial slot |
|---|---|---|
| Frontier | Far West | 1st (one dot) |
| Sand | Desert | 2nd (two dots) |
| Cliffs | Canyon | 3rd (three dots) |
| Trees | Woodlands | 4th (four dots) |

Symbol pillar locations on each map
Each pillar is large, glows purple, and is sometimes described as a meteor or space rock. Interacting with it does nothing mechanical. Your only task is to view the symbol and the number of dots beneath it, then take a screenshot or note it down.
| Map | Pillar location |
|---|---|
| Far West | Open ground on the map; tall purple pillar visible from a distance. |
| Desert | Far southern edge of the island, near the bottom of the map. |
| Canyon | Western side of the map, tucked among cactus near a player spawn area. |
| Woodlands | Out in the open in a clearing; the easiest of the four to spot. |
Steps to complete the puzzle at the monolith
Step 1: Travel to Area 41 and head to the southern part of the map. Find the rock contraption next to the monolith and interact with it to register the clue.
Step 2: Run separate sessions through Far West, Desert, Canyon, and Woodlands, locating each purple pillar. Record the symbol and dot count at every stop.
Step 3: Return to Area 41 and approach the monolith dials. Rotate the first dial until it shows the Far West symbol, the second until it shows Desert, the third until it shows Canyon, and the fourth until it shows Woodlands.
Step 4: Press the activation button on the monolith. The puzzle locks in only after this final input.

Reward and verification
A correct entry unlocks the Anti-Gravity Falls Joker automatically. This is a green-rarity weapon Joker that gives a chance, on enemy death, to spawn an anti-gravity area or ball that lifts the player upward. It is utility-focused rather than a damage card, useful for repositioning or reaching elevated terrain.
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Reward | Anti-Gravity Falls Joker |
| Rarity | Green (weapon Joker) |
| Effect | Chance to spawn an anti-gravity area when an enemy dies |
| Per stack | +2% |
| Max stack | 2 |
| Buy price | 300c |
| Sell price | 150c |
You know it worked when the activation button triggers and the Joker is added to your collection. From the next run onward, the Anti-Gravity Falls Joker can appear in shops and drops alongside other secret-mission Jokers.
Common reasons the puzzle does not complete
- Entering symbols in the order you found them instead of the fixed Far West → Desert → Canyon → Woodlands order.
- Treating Area 41 itself as one of the symbols. It is the input location, not an entry.
- Missing one of the four maps and only entering three symbols.
- Reading the dial layout right-to-left. The sequence is left-to-right.
- Confirming before all four dials are rotated to the correct symbols.
If the button does not register completion, walk away, return, and re-check each dial against your screenshots before pressing it again.
