Fatal Baboons has grown into one of Roblox’s busier horror experiences, with about about 23,000 players stalking its abandoned lab at any given moment and more than about 20,000,000 visits logged since it opened. VertexLabs’ monster-survival round — scavenge scrap, sell it for gear, and try to outlast the creatures hunting the halls — has also pulled in close to about 590,000 favorites, which puts it among the platform’s more popular scare games.
The newest content drop, the New Lab Update, is live now. It went up on November 7, 2026 and runs through November 11, adding a fresh lab to explore, more monsters to avoid, three new jumpscares, and a reworked fightback system that finally gives players a way to defend themselves. New Lab Update
The New Lab Update is the current headline, live from November 7 through November 11, 2026. It went live at 4 p.m. ET — 1 p.m. PT and 3 p.m. CT — and brings a new lab layout, additional monsters, three new jumpscares, a new fightback system, and the usual round of bug fixes. Interest is still building, with around about 100 players signed up so far, and there’s still about 4 days left before it wraps on November 11.
Recent updates
Mimic Update
Just before it came the Mimic Update, which ran from October 30 to November 3, 2026 and went live at 5 p.m. ET. It added a Mimic monster to the lab’s cast of hunters, two new items — a sawed-off shotgun and a discobomb — two new game passes, and a batch of bug fixes. It drew a far smaller crowd than the update before it, with a little over a hundred players marking interest.
Backrooms Update
The Backrooms Update was the standout of the recent run, live from October 23 to October 28, 2026 and also starting at 5 p.m. ET. It brought a Backrooms-themed map, two new monsters, and VR support, among other changes. It pulled far more interest than the updates on either side of it, with more than 1,300 players signed up to play.
What’s next
VertexLabs hasn’t announced what follows the New Lab Update yet. The recent pattern is easy to read, though: the Backrooms Update landed on October 23, the Mimic Update on October 30, and the New Lab Update on November 7 — each roughly a week after the last. If that rhythm holds, the next drop would arrive in the back half of November. We’ll add it here as soon as the developer confirms one.
