The Golden Boot Evolution in FC 26 turns an already sharp attacker into a genuine finisher, and it costs nothing to run. It is also the first Evolution that accepts cards rated as high as 97, which opens the door to elite meta items that were locked out of earlier paths. You unlock it by clearing the Goal-den Touch objective inside Ultimate Team.
Quick answer: Complete the Goal-den Touch objective to unlock the Evolution, then apply it to any outfield card rated 97 or lower with no more than 10 PlayStyles and 4 PlayStyle+. Play one Ultimate Team match to clear each of the two levels.
Golden Boot Evolution requirements
A card has to sit inside every one of these limits to be eligible. The high 97 overall cap is the key difference from most other Evolutions, so premium special cards qualify here.
| Requirement | Limit |
|---|---|
| Overall | Max 97 |
| PlayStyles | Max 10 |
| PlayStyle+ | Max 4 |
| Position | Not GK |

The Evolution runs through two levels, and every boost is aimed squarely at shooting. By the end, your card gains improved finishing stats, extra Weak Foot and Skill stars, plus four attacking PlayStyles.
| Level 1 | Level 2 |
|---|---|
| Overall +1 (98) | Long Shots +10 (97) |
| Finishing +10 (98) | Penalties +10 (97) |
| Positioning +10 (98) | Volleys +10 (97) |
| Shot Power +10 (98) | Skills +4 |
| Weak Foot +4 | PlayStyles: Power Shot, Chip Shot (7) |
| PlayStyles+: Finesse Shot, Low Driven Shot (5) | — |
Each level has a single, easy condition. Play one match in any Ultimate Team game mode with the active Evolution card in your starting eleven, and the level completes. Repeat once more for Level 2, and the card carries all the upgrades permanently.
Best cards to feed into Golden Boot
The strongest picks are attackers who already have pace and dribbling but lack finishing polish, since this path fills exactly that gap. Cards that have passed through earlier Evolution steps also work well, because Golden Boot can act as the final stage of a chain.
| Player | Card version |
|---|---|
| Alexis Mac Allister | PTG |
| Alexander Isak | PTG |
| Désiré Doué | Phenoms |
| Sadio Mané | PTG |
| Giuliano Simeone | PTG |
| Cody Gakpo | PTG |
| Salma Paralluelo | UWCL Winners |
| Ismael Saibari | Summer Stars |
| Tabitha Chawinga | TOTS |
| Pedro Neto | PTG |
| Bouaddou Sarr | Summer Stars |
| Mohamed Salah | End of an Era |
| Ronaldinho | GOTG Icon |
Tip: Salma Paralluelo and Chawinga already show up among the highest-rated evolved cards in the game, so pairing their base speed with Golden Boot’s finishing boosts produces a very complete wide forward.
How to confirm it worked
After you finish the required match, the Evolution screen marks the level as complete and applies the stat increases to the card immediately. Check the player’s item to see Finishing, Positioning, and Shot Power sitting at their new caps, along with the added PlayStyles and the higher Weak Foot rating.
If a level does not register, the usual cause is that the card was not on the pitch for the match, or you selected a different Evolution as active. Make sure the Golden Boot card is set as your active Evolution and starts the game, then replay a single match to trigger the upgrade.
Because it is free and slots neatly onto the end of longer upgrade chains, Golden Boot is worth unlocking as soon as you clear Goal-den Touch, even if you wait to decide which attacker deserves the finishing overhaul.
