In the Kingdom of Grandshelt, an island-bound tower stands northeast of Grandport Harbor in Final Fantasy Resonance. You may notice it near the start of your exploration, but trying to force your way through its locked entrance only wastes time; no action you take independently can unlock it. Siren’s Tower concludes Chapter 1, “Tailing the Truth,” and remains inaccessible until the story directs you there.
Quick answer: Advance Chapter 1 until the “Find a ship in Grandport” objective, talk to the sailor at the southern docks, and return once the objective reads “Visit Siren.” Fina then opens the door.

Why the Siren’s Tower door stays locked
The entrance isn’t tied to a key, an item, or a party level. It’s a story lock. The door gives way only when Fina responds to a voice that only she can hear, and that scene doesn’t happen until the main quest points you at the tower. If you arrive before that, the door stays shut no matter how many times you interact with it.
That means the fix is simply story order. The tower opens near the end of Chapter 1, after several earlier stops are cleared.
Chapter 1 progress needed before the tower opens
The Siren’s Tower objective appears only after these main story beats are done, in roughly this order:
- Investigate the Earth Shrine, then travel to the town of Mitra and Rain’s house
- Return to Grandshelt Castle and save the King of Grandshelt
- Head for Felicitas, stay at the inn in Kol, and rent a chocobo
- Clear the Kolobos Ruins while looking for Emma’s mom
- Receive the objective “Find a ship in Grandport”
Once “Find a ship in Grandport” is your active quest, you’re one conversation away from the tower.

How to unlock Siren’s Tower from Grandport Harbor
Grandport has a side quest, The Weight of Mercy, available on this return trip. Finish it before you set out, since the tower ends the chapter.

How to confirm you’re inside
You’ll know it worked when the scene moves into a round stone hall with a torch-lined walkway leading forward, and “Visit Siren” stays pinned as your goal under the Chapter 1 header. The tower’s danger level is 11, the same level as the boss waiting at the top, so that’s the party level the game expects for the climb.
What to have ready before entering Siren’s Tower
Getting through the door commits you to a longer dungeon than anything earlier in Chapter 1. Gilgamesh shows up partway through, and the climb ends in a fight with Siren that you can’t flee. She can charm your whole party at once with a move called Allure, so Charm protection matters more than raw stats.
| Monk’s Prayer Beads source | Quantity | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Grandport armor and accessory merchant | 2 | 1,500 gil each |
| Secrets Unearthed (Chloe’s quest in Felicitas) | 1 | Quest reward |
| Chest on the tower’s second floor | 1 | Free |
Monk’s Prayer Beads prevent Charm, and your Chapter 1 party is only Rain, Lasswell, and Fina, so three sets cover everyone. Siren is also weak to Lightning. None of the three characters learns a Lightning skill natively, but the Tronn Vision comes with Thunder as soon as you equip it.

Beating Siren at the top calms the sea, opens the route from Grandport to Dirnado, and gives Fina her esper summoning ability, with Siren as the first summon. Chapter 1 is also included in the free demo, so the same sequence works there.
