Final Fantasy Resonance release status by platform

Status: Confirmed. Square Enix has set October 22, 2026 as the release date on every platform. Each storefront handles the release hour in its own way.

PlatformRelease timeHow it rolls out
PlayStation 5Midnight, October 22Local to each store
PC (Steam)16:00 UTC, October 22Same moment worldwide
Xbox Series X|SOctober 22, hour not publishedNot confirmed
Nintendo Switch / Switch 2October 22, hour not publishedNot confirmed

Microsoft and Nintendo have not published a release hour for their stores yet. The Nintendo eShop listing gives only the date. Square Enix’s recent HD-2D releases, including Octopath Traveler 0 and Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake, opened at midnight local time, so a midnight start on those consoles is likely. It is still unconfirmed.

PS5 release time: Midnight in each store’s time zone

Each regional PlayStation Store opens Final Fantasy Resonance at midnight on October 22 in its own time zone. The US and Canadian stores are the exception that matters most. They run on Eastern time for the whole country, so players farther west get the game the evening before.

Because PlayStation uses local midnight, players in Australia and Japan start well before anyone in Europe or the Americas. Los Angeles and Vancouver get in at 9 PM on Wednesday night. You can pre-order or check the timer on the Final Fantasy Resonance PlayStation Store page.

Steam release time: 16:00 UTC worldwide

Steam works the other way. The PC version opens at a single moment for everyone, which is 16:00 UTC on October 22. In Europe that means the evening of the 22nd, not midnight. In much of Asia and Oceania, the calendar has already moved to October 23.

Japanese listings give the Steam version a date of October 23 for this reason. It is the same release moment, shown on a later calendar day. The Final Fantasy Resonance Steam page counts down to this time.

If you play on both PS5 and PC, the PS5 version opens hours earlier in every region. In the US it opens 12 hours before Steam.

What Final Fantasy Resonance is

Square Enix and LANCARSE Ltd. developed Resonance, a turn-based RPG that retells the opening story arc of the mobile title Final Fantasy Brave Exvius as a self-contained release for consoles and PC. The game features a redesigned overworld, revised side quests, revamped combat, and a rearranged narrative. It has no gacha mechanics; players buy it once, and play is single-player.
