Fisch: Best Enchant for the Steady Harpoon Gun (Lightened)

Lightened cuts the Steady Harpoon Gun's reload in half and speeds up your shots, with the power loss barely mattering.

Lightened cuts the Steady Harpoon Gun’s reload in half and speeds up your shots, with the power loss barely mattering.

The Steady Harpoon Gun is one of the first ranged fishing tools you can pick up in Fisch, sold at the docks of Roslit Bay. It’s built for beginners, with a special effect that makes the pull buttons in the reeling minigame larger and easier to click. Its one real weakness is a slow reload, and the right enchant fixes exactly that.

Quick answer: Put Lightened in the primary enchant slot. It halves the 6.00s reload down to 3 seconds, adds 25% velocity, and only costs 10% power, which this weapon barely relies on.

Why Lightened is the best enchant for the Steady Harpoon Gun

The base reload sits at 6.00 seconds, which is a long wait between shots when you’re trying to line up roaming fish. Lightened reduces reload time by 50%, dropping it to 3 seconds. That single change roughly doubles how quickly you can fire, hook, and reel again.

The 25% velocity boost also matters. A faster harpoon reaches your target sooner and makes hitting moving fish more consistent. The trade-off is a 10% drop in power, but the Steady Harpoon Gun was never designed to be a high-power weapon. It leans on ease of use and steady, repeatable catches, so shaving a little power off changes almost nothing in practice.

What to run in the second slot

Keep Lightened locked into the primary slot. For the second slot, a Cosmic enchant is the flexible pick if you want to customize the weapon further. Nothing there needs to replace Lightened, so treat the Cosmic slot as a bonus rather than a competing choice.

Note: Harpoon Guns can currently be enchanted using Enchant Relics and Cosmic Relics. That’s what powers both the Lightened roll and any Cosmic effect you add on top.

How to enchant the Steady Harpoon Gun

Get an Enchant Relic. Relics can be fished up anywhere, bought from Merlin past Level 30, or earned through quests and treasure hunting, among other sources.

Head to the Statue of Sovereignty at night, since the Keepers Altar is only active after dark. Talk to Cole and take his deal for a Token, then use the elevator behind him to descend to the altar. If you own the Enchant Anywhere gamepass, you can skip the travel entirely.
Equip and hold the Steady Harpoon Gun, then interact with the altar. Holding the harpoon (rather than a rod) is required, since the altar enchants whatever weapon you’re holding.

Roll until you land Lightened. Each enchant is applied at random and removed from the pool once rolled, so with enough Relics you’re guaranteed to eventually hit it.

How to confirm it worked

An enchanted weapon shows a colored prefix on its name in your inventory, and the enchant details appear above the hot bar when it’s equipped. Check the reload stat too. If Lightened applied correctly, the Steady Harpoon Gun should read a 3-second reload instead of the base 6.00s, and your shots between reloads will noticeably speed up in the field.

With Lightened equipped, the Steady Harpoon Gun becomes exactly what it’s meant to be. A consistent, beginner-friendly ranged tool that fires quickly, lands hits reliably, and keeps you catching roaming fish without the long wait between every shot.
