The Boat Racing update, released on September 26, 2026, turns Fisch’s fleet of boats into a competitive activity. Version 2.03 adds timed island races run by Race Leaders, two new rod masteries, five unlockable reward boats, a stack of balance changes, and a fresh code. It is a lighter release compared to the game’s seasonal events, with the studio’s larger work reserved for an anniversary celebration and a Halloween expansion.

Boat Racing: how the new activity works
Race Leaders now stand on several islands across Fisch. Talk to one to enter its race, run the track, and compete for the fastest time. Completing a race grants free rewards, and your times are compared against other players on shared leaderboards.
During official races, normal boat upgrades are removed and every boat is given identical performance stats. That means the winner is decided by driving lines and timing, not by owning a faster hull. Each reward boat carries a Q key turbo boost outside of racing.
Every track needs two clears — one run unlocks the track’s title, and a second run under the target time unlocks the boat.
Five reward boats and where to unlock them
The update adds five boats tied to the new races. Each is earned by finding its Race Leader and beating the listed time. The table lists each boat, its island, and the time you need to clear.

Lighthouse Skiff (Moosewood)
At Moosewood, find the Race Leader on the dock beside the Moosewood Daily Shop. This track gives you the most forgiving time limit: 2:10. Keep your lines tight through the corners to get the boat through on your first timed run.
Blacktide Sailboat (Forsaken Shores)
Find the Race Leader on the rocks across from the Shipwright at Forsaken Shores. You need to finish in under 1:15 to add this sailboat to your collection.
Primal Airboat (Ancient Isles)
Head to Ancient Isles and follow the left coast ledge past the second Shipwright. This is the trickiest track, adding rock spikes and TNT barrels as hazards and a 100 HP durability bar that resets your boat if depleted. Clear it under 1:40 without destroying your boat to earn the dinosaur skull-themed airboat.
Glacier Jetboat (Snowcap Island)
The Race Leader stands on the ice shelf to the left of the Snowcap Island Shipwright. Complete the icy course in under 1:15.
Crag-Catamaran (Scoria Reach)
Travel to Scoria Reach and look on the rock cliffs above the mines. This is the shortest course, but it demands a sub-1:00 run, so time your boost releases carefully.
Two new rod masteries
Two masteries join the game with this release. The Stellarwave Melody Mastery lets you synthesize the stars, and the Rod of the Singularity Mastery follows it up by collapsing them. Each mastery carries its own cosmetic rewards, including the Nullwave bobber for Stellarwave Melody and the Platinum Reverie bobber for Rod of the Singularity.

The Cinderstring received across-the-board buffs to its core stats and its Infernal Melody effects.

Infernal Melody 1 now lasts 60 seconds instead of 30, adds a 15% chance for Emberflame, raises Scorched from 20% to 60%, Luck from +10% to +35%, and Progress Speed from +25% to +30%. Infernal Melody 2 raises Scorched to 60%, adds a 20% chance for Emberflame, lifts Infernal from 15% to 20%, and doubles Luck to +50%.
Masterline
For Masterline, the Ascended Mutation multiplier is now 12×, up from 9.9×; Control has shifted from 0.15 to 0.2. The Total Weight Multiplier is capped at 2.25×.
The blacklist has been revised: Cinder Block Rod is on it now, but Remembrance has been removed. Copies of Remembrance lack its Dark Fish passive.
Wind Elemental
Every Wind Elemental mode except Omni now has +25% Progress Speed as a base stat and a +20% chance for its respective mutation in its favored weather. The Base Mode gains +45% Luck. Omni-Elemental was buffed as well: Breezed, Terra, Ignited, and Stormy chances rise from 15% to 20%, Progress Speed jumps from 25% to 55%, and it gains +25% Luck.
Crested Enchantment
Crested’s passive now works correctly: it reduces Fish Movement Speed by −30%, or by −15% when the rod has any type of anti-slash, including the Tryhard Rod or Remembrance Departed Mode. Crested can also be placed in Keeperbound Enchants at the Twisted Pillar spot. Its Affix reduces Fish Movement Speed by −15%, unaffected by anti-slash.
Gauntlet buffs
Four gauntlets were buffed. Each of these changes also applies to Mariana’s Gauntlets at half strength.

Bug fixes and quality-of-life changes
- Fixed various bugs that blocked progression in Mariana’s Veil.
- Fixed a bug that stopped the Ice Warpers Rod from spawning.
- A fix prevents the “Spawn Boats Anywhere” gamepass from spawning boats in the Obsidian Trench. Gamepass boat spawning has also been improved.
- Reduced a bug that randomly kicked players from their Crew; you should now rejoin normally without an officer or staff member.
- Storage and inventory now have a 32,000-item-stack limit to guard against data loss.
- A new toggle lets you open all unfavorited crates of a given type at once.
Redeem the VroomVroom code
The update ships with one new code: VroomVroom. Enter it in the game’s codes menu to claim its reward. Codes can expire without warning, so redeem it while it is active.

What comes after Boat Racing
This drop is a deliberate filler while the team builds toward larger events. A Fisch anniversary celebration is in development around the game’s October 5 launch window, teased with birthday-themed models including a cake-style creature, a fish in a party hat, cupcakes, and a candle prop. The bigger project is FischFright, a Halloween expansion built around a new event currency called Treats, previewed alongside a carved Jack-o’-lantern on wooden stilts.
Two community rumors also received clarification. Nate, Fisch’s lead developer, is developing a separate open-world MMORPG with no connection to Fisch and no place in the Roblox simulator genre. The rumored “Nate’s Blade quest” tied to Boat Racing was confirmed to be false for now and is planned for a later date, leaving races and masteries as the content to focus on.
