Fischfest, the game’s summer limited event, remains the headline. It has been live since June 20, 2026 and runs into early September, with interest close to 160,000 players. Roaming Fish, the update that put visibly swimming fish in the water, closed on July 20, leaving Fischfest as the only event running until two feature drops land in August: Harpoon Guns on August 1 and the underwater expansion The Deep on August 8. Fischfest (summer limited event, live now)
Fischfest is Fisch’s summer celebration, and Fisching bills it as the biggest event the game has ever run. The update gives the world a beach makeover, layers in a set of season-themed quests, and adds fish that only surface while the event is active. Those event-exclusive catches are the main pull, since they vanish once Fischfest closes.
The event opened on June 20, 2026 and runs until September 5, 2026, with both the start and the finish set for 12:00 PM ET (9:00 AM PT, 5:00 PM UK time). That makes September 5 the last day to take part, up until midday Eastern. With close to 160,000 players marked as interested, it is drawing far more attention than anything else on the calendar, and with six weeks still to run it will outlast both August updates.
Harpoon Guns (feature update, next up)
Harpoon Guns is the next drop and adds a way to fish from range. Every harpoon gun carries its own stats and passive ability, which gives the update a collectible angle worth chasing. The developer frames it as a natural partner to the roaming fish added in July: spot a fish in the water, then take it with a harpoon from a distance. With that mechanic now in the game for good, the pairing should work from day one.
It opens on August 1, 2026 at 12:00 PM ET (9:00 AM PT, 5:00 PM UK time) and closes at 8:00 PM ET on August 3, a weekend-length window rather than a permanent fixture. Interest is over 60,000 players ahead of the drop, the second-largest figure on the schedule behind Fischfest.
The Deep (underwater expansion)
The Deep is the largest of the summer updates, an underwater expansion that opens a new region far below the surface. Fisching describes it as a wide-open space built for exploration rather than a tight new area, stocked with new rods, spears, and harpoon guns to find and a full bestiary of fish modeled on real-life species.
It opens on August 8, 2026 at 12:00 PM ET and closes at 8:00 PM ET on August 10, with more than 45,000 players interested. It lands the Saturday after Harpoon Guns, so Fisch is keeping its weekend-drop rhythm through the summer, with a quiet weekend in between the two.

Roaming Fish (feature update, now ended)
Roaming Fish opened the run of Saturday updates and introduced fish that physically swim through the water across the whole map, rather than biting unseen beneath the surface. The idea was to spot one below you and cast nearby for a better shot at landing it, with spears an option as well.
It was a short, focused drop, open from July 18, 2026 at 12:00 PM ET until 8:00 PM ET on July 20, and that window has now closed. Interest passed 40,000 players, a fraction of Fischfest’s turnout and now below both of the August drops that follow it. The mechanic it added stays in the game, and it is the foundation Harpoon Guns is built to take advantage of in August.
