Fisch just added a second way to catch fish. The Harpoon Guns update went live on August 1, 2026, and it hands you a ranged weapon you can fire at Roaming Fish, hook them, and then reel them in through a brand new pull minigame. Alongside that, there are seven collectible Harpoon Guns scattered across the map, ten new enchantments each for Harpoon Guns and Spears, a redesigned Equipment Bag, and a fresh code to grab.
Quick answer: Open Settings, go to the Codes menu, and redeem HarpoonGunsAreAwesome to claim the launch reward. Then head out to find any of the seven Harpoon Guns, equip one from your Equipment Bag, aim at a Roaming Fish, fire, and complete the Pull prompt to land the catch.

Traditional fishing has you equip a rod, cast into the water, and wait. Harpoon Guns flip that. Instead of waiting, you actively look for fish moving through the water, aim at your target, and fire a harpoon.
Landing the shot hooks the fish, but that is only the first half. Hitting the target does not add it to your inventory. You then enter a separate pull minigame and have to press the Pull prompt quickly until the sequence finishes. Only once the pull completes is the catch yours.
The full loop looks like this: find a Roaming Fish, aim the Harpoon Gun, fire, hook the target, complete the Pull minigame, and collect the catch. Because the harpoon only hooks the fish, the reeling stage is what actually brings it in.
All seven Harpoon Guns and where to find them
There is no single vendor selling the whole set. The seven Harpoon Guns are spread deliberately across the map, from Crystal Cove to the Cursed Isle, so collecting all of them means traveling. Each one carries its own stats, and some have potential passive abilities, so they do not all perform the same despite sharing the catching mechanic.

Some of these sit near obvious landmarks, while others take real searching even once you reach the right island. The Steady Harpoon Gun is one of the cheaper options at Roslit Bay, which makes it tempting first, but it is not especially strong compared to the rest. If your money is limited, it is worth looking past it toward the guns you will keep using.
Note: If you reach the correct area and cannot spot a Harpoon Gun, don’t assume the location is wrong. Dark environmental or admin events at launch made some purchase points hard to see, so search structures, docks, elevated ground, and shorelines carefully before moving on.
Equip a Harpoon Gun from the Equipment Bag
The Equipment Bag was rebuilt to hold Fishing Rods, Spears, and Harpoon Guns all in one place, with a category selector to swap between them. The old equipment bag has been disabled for now.
New Harpoon Gun and Spear enchantments
The update adds 10 Harpoon Gun enchantments and 10 Spear enchantments, giving both weapon types new ways to specialize. Mixing and matching lets you tune a setup around whatever a specific gun or spear lacks.
For now, Harpoon Guns can only be enchanted using Enchant Relics and Cosmic Relics. If an enchantment isn’t taking, check that you are applying one of those two relic types.
Trident Striker Ritual in the Desolate Deep
A forgotten ritual has appeared inside the Desolate Deep. Completing its challenge uncovers Poseidon’s hidden armory, which is where the Trident Striker Harpoon Gun is found. The developers have teased that this is only the start, with The Deep promising far stronger equipment down the line.
