Fisch: How to Craft the Relic Piercer Harpoon Gun

The exact materials, fishing setup, and station you need to build this Ancient Isle harpoon gun.

The exact materials, fishing setup, and station you need to build this Ancient Isle harpoon gun.

The Relic Piercer is the only harpoon gun in Fisch that you build yourself rather than buy from a location. It is made at the Harpoon Gun Crafting station on Ancient Isle, and its hardest requirement is a mutated fish catch that needs a special rod to reel in.

Quick answer: Bring 3 Moonstone, 1 Meg’s Spine (Marrow), and 2 Scrap Metal to the Harpoon Gun Crafting station on Ancient Isle, then craft. The Meg’s Spine (Marrow) must be caught at Ancient Isle using the Marrow Rod.

Relic Piercer crafting materials

The full recipe uses three ingredients. Two of them are common, but the Meg’s Spine (Marrow) is the piece that turns this into a longer grind.

MaterialAmountHow to get it
Moonstone31.4% chance from a Meteor at Ancient Isle
Meg’s Spine (Marrow)1Fish at Ancient Isle with the Marrow Rod
Scrap Metal2Catch anywhere in the Ocean with the Training Rod

Scrap Metal and Moonstone can be stockpiled while you work toward the harder catch. Moonstone only drops from Meteors on Ancient Isle at a low rate, so start collecting it early.

Get the Marrow Rod first

Meg’s Spine is a Mythical catch found at Ancient Isle. The base version has a 12% catch rate, and the Marrow mutation the recipe asks for sits around 6%. To have a real chance at hooking the Marrow version, you need the Marrow Rod because of its high Luck stat.

The Marrow Rod is itself a crafted item. Its parts come from a questline on Fishfest Island, and the recipe is listed below.

Marrow Rod materialAmount
Mysterious Skull1
Mysterious Spine1
Mysterious Fang1
C$100,000

Once built, the Marrow Rod carries Lure Speed 30%, Luck 80%, Control 0.1, Resilience 11%, and a Max Kg of 100,000. That Luck value is the reason it is the tool of choice for the Marrow catch.

Catch Meg’s Spine (Marrow) at Ancient Isle

Equip the Marrow Rod and travel to Ancient Isle. Meg’s Spine can appear on any celestial cycle, so you do not need to wait for a specific time of day.
Stack luck buffs before fishing. A Rainbow Totem plus any luck food or potions raises your odds of landing the Marrow mutation instead of the plain version.
Fish the waters around the island and keep at it until you hook the Marrow variant. A successful catch shows a message such as “You just caught a Big Marrow Meg’s Spine at 5.6kg!” and adds Meg’s Spine (Marrow) to your inventory.

Note: A normal Meg’s Spine will not satisfy the recipe. The crafting menu specifically requires the Marrow version, so confirm the mutation name before you head to the station.

Craft the Relic Piercer

With all three materials in your bag, go to the Harpoon Gun Crafting station on Ancient Isle, in the Ancient Archives area.
Open the crafting menu and select the Relic Piercer recipe. The screen should read 3/3 Moonstone, 1/1 Meg’s Spine (Marrow), and 2/2 Scrap Metal once your counts are met.
Confirm the craft. You know it worked when the message “You crafted the Relic Piercer” appears and the harpoon gun lands in your Equipment Bag under the Harpoon Guns category.

If the craft button stays greyed out, the usual cause is holding a plain Meg’s Spine rather than the Marrow one, or being short on Moonstone since it drops slowly from Meteors.

Relic Piercer stats and pull mechanic

Its in-game description reads: “Forged from ancient materials. Requires rapid effort to pull, but turns quick reflexes into incredible progress.” That line points directly at how it reels in a catch.

StatValue
Power50
Range20 studs
Reload2.50s
Velocity50/ps
Resilience-5%
Accuracy20%
Max Kg50,000

Unlike some harpoon guns, the Relic Piercer does not reel automatically. After you hook a roaming fish, you have to click the “PULL!” prompt repeatedly to close the distance. Each click adds progress, and missing the timing slows that progress down, so the faster and cleaner your clicks, the quicker the catch lands.

The Relic Piercer arrived with the Harpoon Guns update, which added ranged fishing and the pull minigame to Fisch. If you want the free bonus gun tied to that launch, the code HarpoonGunsAreAwesome can be redeemed in game, though promo codes expire without warning.
