The Webweaver Rod is a limited rod that arrived with Fisch’s FischFright 3 update on October 17, 2026. You can’t buy it outright. You first finish a three-part questline for Webby Winston, a spider-themed NPC tucked inside the Webridden Cavern on Caustic Hallow. Then you pay for the rod in Treats. The quest pays for itself, so the only real cost is your time.

Quick answer: Talk to Webby Winston at -15069, 145, -9983 in Webridden Cavern. Trick-or-Treat at all 16 houses, catch 10 Webbed fish in the cavern, and hand in 15 Cobweb Cod. Then buy the rod for 1,000 Treats.

Webby Winston location in Webridden Cavern

Caustic Hallow is the FischFright 3 event island, and you reach it on the ghostly Flying Dutchman ship. Webridden Cavern is a sub-location on that island. To get there, start at the Witch’s Cauldron and head straight out from its right side until you enter the cave.

Webby Winston stands in front of a giant spider web that seals off a back room. His position is -15069, 145, -9983. The Webweaver Rod hangs suspended in webs behind that barrier, and you can’t reach it until his quest is done.

Webby Winston quest objectives and rewards

When you talk to Webby Winston, he gives you three objectives at once. You can work on them in any order, and each one tracks its own progress counter.

Trick-or-Treat once at every house0/16Caustic Hallow village
Catch 10 Webbed fish at Webridden Cavern0/10Webridden Cavern pool
Obtain 15 Cobweb Cod for Webby Winston0/15Caustic Hallow waters

When you finish all three, the quest unlocks the Webweaver Rod room. It also pays out 1,000 Treats and 8,000 XP. That Treat reward exactly matches the rod’s price, so you don’t need to farm extra currency for this purchase.

Trick-or-Treat house numbers

There are 16 numbered houses spread across the Caustic Hallow village. Knock on each door once. Repeat visits don’t count.

House 426 also turns up as 429 on some lists. Go by the number on the door and the counter in your quest tracker. When it reads 16/16, you’re done.

Webbed fish and Cobweb Cod

The Webbed fish objective only counts catches made inside Webridden Cavern, so fish the green pool in the cave. A bridge at -15058, 142.9, -9923.0 overlooks a spot that gets a Webbed abundance at regular intervals. While that abundance is active, your odds of landing a Webbed mutation go up by 10%.

Cobweb Cod is a Common fish, and you can catch it anywhere on the new island, including the cavern pool. If you stay in the cave for the Webbed objective, you’ll usually fill both counters in the same session.

How to unlock and buy the Webweaver Rod

Ride the Flying Dutchman to Caustic Hallow, then walk directly into Webridden Cavern from the Witch’s Cauldron’s right side.
Talk to Webby Winston at the web barrier to start his quest. All three objectives now appear in your tracker at zero.
Go around the Caustic Hallow village and Trick-or-Treat at all 16 numbered houses. Keep going until the counter shows 16/16.
Go back to the cavern and fish the pool until you have 10 Webbed catches and 15 Cobweb Cod. Use the bridge spot during a Webbed abundance to speed up the mutation catches.
Talk to Webby Winston again to turn in the quest. The silk wall behind him dissolves, and you receive 1,000 Treats and 8,000 XP.
Walk into the newly opened room and interact with the floating Webweaver Rod. When the Shop Purchase window appears, confirm the 1,000-Treat price.

Confirming you own the Webweaver Rod

The purchase prompt asks, “Are you sure you would like to purchase [Webweaver Rod] for 1,000 Treats?” After you confirm, the rod shows up in your equipment bag. Its tooltip should match these stats.

StatValue
Lure Speed125%
Luck250%
Control0.03
Resilience10%
Max Kginf

The tooltip also reads “Only obtainable during FischFright 3.” That means the rod won’t be available once the event ends. No end date for the event has been officially confirmed, so if you want the rod, don’t put the quest off. The black-and-red design, with its glowing red skull above a neon-crimson spider emblem, also makes it easy to recognize in your hotbar.

Webweaver Rod passive: Spiders, webs, and venom

When you equip the rod, three spider companions appear and follow you around. They don’t use your companion slot, so they can run alongside one you already have. The rod also comes with its own spiderweb-styled reeling bar and a Venom gauge.

  • If you stay in one spot, the spiders weave a web of random shape around your feet. The shape has no effect, and the web disappears when you step off it.
  • While you stand on the web, every catch gets the Webbed mutation. Off the web, the chance drops to 10%.
  • A Perfect Cast guarantees a spider attack. Imperfect casts leave it to chance.
  • Each attack lands up to five venom bites, and each bite adds +5% True Progress Speed, for a maximum of +25%.
  • Sometimes a spider lays a web egg that hatches a low-tier fish from your current area right away, or shoots web strings to hook nearby fish. The Webbed mutation still applies to these bonus fish.

The 0.03 Control and 10% Resilience are the rod’s weak points, and you’ll feel them on fast or heavy fish. The venom bonus to progress speed helps offset this, and the spider passive takes care of Webbed farming on its own. Once your stats match the table above, the Webweaver Rod is unlocked for good.
