Your brand new iPhone XS or XS Max not turning on? That’s insane. But it’s a common problem with iOS devices. Many of the previous iPhone models have had it, and it’s now the iPhone XS having its share of the problem.

Below are some troubleshooting tips to fix the problem.

  • Charge your iPhone XS

    If your iPhone XS won’t turn on, put it on charge for at least 30 mins, and check if that solves the problem. Do this even if you’re sure there was enough battery on your device.

  • Restore to factory defaults using iTunes

    Restoring to factory defaults might fix the problem booting problem on your iPhone XS. To restore your iPhone from iTunes, do the following:

    – Install iTunes on your computer
    – Connect your iPhone to the computer while holding the Side button.
    – Click “Update” in the pop-up that appears on the iTunes window.

  • Contact Apple

    If nothing works, walk your iPhone XS straight to an Apple Customer Care service center and tell them about the problem.
