Epic Games has scaled back the Adventure Sprite in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 with a hotfix that removes its most useful side effects. The change closes a loophole players had been relying on to level up other Sprites in seconds, most notably the Crown Sprite, which is the rarest one in the game.

The trick relied on the way progress carried across to a second Sprite. You equipped the Adventure Sprite while keeping the Crown Sprite as the only other item in your inventory, then did anything that would level the Adventure Sprite.
Opening chests, cracking ammo boxes, and lighting campfires all counted. As the Adventure Sprite climbed, the Crown Sprite climbed with it. Once the Crown Sprite reached mastery, you could extract it to your Sprite Garden and use it toward Chapter 7 Season 4 quests. That path is now closed.
Mastering the Crown Sprite after the nerf
The Crown Sprite does not level from looting like most Sprites. It levels only through Victory Royales, which is what made it the standout target for the old glitch. With the shortcut removed, there is no workaround left. You need to win matches to raise it to mastery (Level 5) and then extract it.
You will know it worked when the Crown Sprite shows Level 5 in the Sprites menu and can be extracted to your Sprite Garden. If it refuses to level, the reason is almost always the same: the round did not end in a Victory Royale.
Other Sprites remain much easier to build up. Gold Sprites and Cheat Master Sprites, for example, can still be obtained comparatively quickly.

Glitches that no longer work
The Adventure Sprite change is not the only shortcut that has been shut down. A Quack Snack duplication trick, which involved dropping the item right before consuming it to level up instantly, has already been patched.
A separate soccer pitch exploit used the toy soccer ball emote in a glitched goal spot to spawn extra Striker Sprites and Sprite Dust. Treat these as historical rather than current, since exploiting active glitches can lead to penalties on your account.
For a season built around the tagline “Break the rules. Change the game,” the Adventure Sprite crackdown lands as an awkward note. Still, the leveling systems that remain are enough to finish your collection, and the Crown Sprite simply asks for the one thing it always did before the shortcut existed, which is wins.
