Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3: What to Finish Before Runners Ends

A time-boxed checklist of Battle Pass tiers, Sprites, and Ranked rewards that disappear when the Runners season closes.

Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3, better known as Runners, is in its final days, and everything tied to it locks at the same moment. The Battle Pass, the season’s Sprites, Ranked rewards, and every limited-time cosmetic close out together, then Chapter 7 Season 4 (Override) takes over. Anything you have not claimed by the cutoff is gone for good.

Quick answer: Finish the Runners Battle Pass, extract and Master your Sprites, spend all Sprite Dust and Gizmos, and lock in your Ranked rewards before August 19 at 4 AM ET. Season 4 (Override) begins August 20.

Key Runners season deadlines

Almost every item on your to-do list shares the same expiry, so plan your remaining play sessions around it. The reset is a hard cutoff with no grace period and no retroactive unlocks once servers switch to Season 4.

Finish the Runners Battle Pass

This is the priority. The Runners Battle Pass stays available until August 19 at 4 AM ET, and after that none of its cosmetics can be unlocked. Reach Level 100 to claim every base reward. To also secure the Bonus Rewards and Super Styles, you need to hit Level 200.

If you are short on levels, stack XP from several sources at once rather than grinding a single mode:

  • Clear Daily, Weekly, and Story Quests.
  • Complete Reload Map Mastery Quests.
  • Complete Fortnite OG Greatest Hits Quests.
  • Extract Sprites and Master them to trigger Mastery Milestone Rewards.
  • Play Creative maps, including AFK XP maps.
  • Play LEGO Fortnite Odyssey.

Tip: If you are a Crew member whose subscription lapsed but still have Battle Pass cosmetics to claim, wait until August 18 or 19 (before 4 AM ET) to renew. Renewing then unlocks the remaining Runners rewards and rolls you straight into the next Battle Pass.

Claim limited-time quest cosmetics

Several cosmetics tied to season questlines also vanish at the August 19 cutoff. Work through the ones you still want, keeping in mind that some require you to own the Battle Pass.

Collect and extract Sprites before they retire

Sprite hunting continues next season, but the current loot pool of Sprites is being retired. You have until August 19 at 4 AM ET to find each one and extract it to secure it in your collection. Extracted Sprites carry into the Sprite Garden next season and unlock them as pilots for The Guardian Battle Pass skin.

The most reliable ways to find Sprites are:

  • Sprite Chests scattered across the map.
  • Regular Chests and Rare Chests.
  • Cluster’s Found Quests, using the duck item dropped from containers.
  • The Sprite Hunt Rift Anomaly.
  • Trading with other players.

Two timed events raise your odds of rarer Sprites. Mastery Monday runs every Monday from 4 AM ET until the same time the next day, making Mythic Sprites more common. The Mythic Sprite Power Hours land on Saturday, August 15, from 2–4 PM ET and again from 9–11 PM ET.

Master every Sprite you own

Because Sprites retire with the season, you also have until August 19 at 4 AM ET to Master the ones you already hold. Mastering a Sprite unlocks it as a style for the Sprite Mastery Pod Back Bling and feeds into the wider Mastery Rewards track.

Mastery Rewards include Extraction Frame Back Blings, Sprite Mastery Umbrellas, Quack Sprites, and the Sprite Party Emote. To Master a Sprite quickly, first push it to Level 3 or 4 through eliminations and by opening containers. Chests, Ammo Boxes, Produce Boxes, and Fishing Rod Barrels all count toward that progress.

The final two levels cost far more XP, so use a Quack Snack or two to close the gap. Buying Quack Snacks costs Gold, and the Duck Vault at Cluster Coast plus the Battlewoods Storage Building are strong spots to farm it. You can also pick up Quack Snacks as loot or from Found Quests.

Spend Sprite Dust and Gizmos before the reset

Do not hoard consumables expecting them to carry over, because both Sprite Dust and Gizmos reset when Season 4 begins. Every player starts fresh, so burn through your Sprite Dust now and use any Portable Extractors, Sprite Locators, and Extraction Site Boosters you are holding.

What Does the Lucky Locator Do in Fortnite - 1

The one exception is the Lucky Locator. Since it guarantees a Sprite you do not already have, hold it until you have secured most of the common Sprites first, then use it to fill a harder gap. It resets with everything else, so make sure it is spent before the cutoff.

Lock in your Ranked Battle Royale rewards

The Ranked Battle Royale season also ends August 19 at 4 AM ET, giving you until then to reach your highest rank and grab the cosmetics tied to it. Each reward unlocks by playing a Ranked match while sitting at the matching rank, and every one is exclusive to this season.

You will know each task is done the moment the cosmetic appears in your locker and the corresponding tier, quest, or rank shows as claimed. If a reward is missing after the season ends, the most common reason is simply that the item was not unlocked before August 19 at 4 AM ET, since there are no extensions once Override goes live on August 20.
