The D-O event is a limited-time activity in Star Wars Droid Tycoon, the Fortnite island where you build and scale a droid factory. It hands out one thing that matters most: the D-O Iconic Droid, a worker unit with a fusion-speed perk that changes how fast the rest of your production loop runs. Everything else in the event — credits, upgrade chips, mythic blueprints — is a side effect of grinding the same defense loop.
Quick answer: Fly to the D-O event platform, interact with the console, and shoot the hostile droid waves until your Trust Level reaches 400/400. D-O unlocks the moment that counter fills.
D-O event requirements and rewards
Trust Level is the event’s progress bar. It only goes up while you are defending D-O on the event platform, so there is no way to bank progress elsewhere on the map. Here is the whole scoreboard in one place.

The Event Pass is optional. It does not unlock D-O on its own, it just halves how long the 400 Trust Level takes and stacks on top of the event’s existing boosts. Alongside the droid itself, the event window also carries a D-O Base Paint, Nova Crystals, and active 2x bonuses.
How to unlock D-O
You know it worked when the reward screen fires and D-O is added to your roster. From that point D-O appears in the Iconic Droids collection alongside BB-8, Mister Bones, IG-11 Marshal, CB-23, DJ R-3X, R2-D2, C-3PO, and Chopper.
What the Super Sandcrawler does and when it appears
Every 80 droids you defeat during the defense triggers the Super Sandcrawler. It is a short window — roughly 45 to 60 seconds — in which the Sandcrawler stocks rare and mythic droid blueprints you cannot reliably buy at other times.
The timing is tight, so treat the 80-kill mark as a cue rather than a surprise. Break off from the platform as soon as the counter hits it, spend at the Sandcrawler, then return to the console to keep building Trust Level. The trigger repeats, meaning a long defense session can produce several Sandcrawler visits.
Tip: bank credits before the event rather than during it. Arriving with a stockpile means you can clear the Sandcrawler’s stock in one pass instead of watching the timer run out while you are short.
How D-O’s Half Fusion Time perk works
D-O is a worker droid, not an astromech, and its value sits in two numbers. As a worker it generates 15%/s. As an equipped companion it applies Half Fusion Time, which cuts the countdown on the fusion machine.
To confirm the perk is active, note a fusion timer with D-O unequipped, then run the same fusion with D-O equipped and compare. The Fusion Tank menu is also where Nova Crystals and Rush Fusion come in, so a shorter base timer stretches those resources further across a session.
Farming credits, upgrade chips, and mythic droids during the event
The event window is the strongest farming period on the island, not just a cosmetic unlock. Active 2x bonuses apply while it is live, and rare galactic mythic droids show up at a much higher rate than during normal play. Upgrade chips also come in faster, which matters because chips are the usual bottleneck on pushing a factory to its higher tiers.
Practically, that means the most efficient run is one continuous loop: defend, hit 80 kills, spend at the Sandcrawler, return, repeat. Hitting 400 Trust Level early in the window leaves the rest of the event free for pure farming with the boosts still running.
Common reasons Trust Level does not go up
There are only a few ways this stalls, and none of them are subtle.
- You are not on the D-O event platform. Kills made elsewhere on the map do not feed the Trust Level bar.
- You never interacted with the console. The defense has to be started before waves count.
- The event window has closed. Progress is only earned while the event is live in-game.
Event timing and repeat windows
Droid Tycoon events run on staggered regional start times, and the in-game holographic timer near the Cantina is the authoritative countdown for when the next one opens. Past iconic droid events have varied a lot in length, from two-hour weekend blocks to a full 24-hour window, so check the timer rather than assuming a duration.
No official return date for the D-O event is currently confirmed. Iconic droids from earlier events have later become purchasable with Nova Crystals, which is the fallback if you miss a window — but unlocking D-O during the event itself remains the only free route, and it is the one that comes with the Base Paint and the boosted farming on top.
