A new droid variant is on the way to Droid Tycoon, the Star Wars tycoon mode built by FOAD and Blzn Studios inside Fortnite. The mode tracks the drop with a live countdown you can see in the hub, and a short teaser has already hinted at the theme. Here is what is confirmed, what is being teased, and how to be ready when it lands.
Quick answer: The next droid variant is tracked by an in-game countdown billboard near the parkour hub. Watch that timer for the exact release. No separate calendar date is announced outside the in-game clock.
When the new droid variant arrives
Look to the map for the release countdown. A yellow R2-unit outline with a question mark appears above the timer; when captured, it showed 02:18:49 for days, hours, and minutes. Use that billboard as the definitive source, and rely on the countdown displayed in your own session.
You can also read the same countdown from the colorful floating parkour course, where a large question-mark billboard hangs over the platforms. If you are jetpacking around the hub, that banner gives you the remaining time at a glance without opening a menu.
The Kyber teaser and the Professor Huyang theory
The teaser leans into Kyber crystals. It shows a shadowy droid at an altar lifting a glowing crystal, which points toward a Kyber-themed variant. That framing has fueled speculation that the next iconic droid could be Professor Huyang, the ancient droid from Star Wars lore who helps Jedi build lightsabers and is tied to the Jedi Council. Huyang is described as more than 25,000 years old, which fits the “iconic” slot Droid Tycoon reserves for standout characters.
The Kyber theme is teased, but Professor Huyang as the specific droid is still a community theory, not a confirmed reveal. Treat it as a strong hint rather than a promise.
