Poison Ivy’s Ranger Pistol is a Mythic sidearm added during Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3’s Hot Bat Summer event. You get it by beating Poison Ivy in a boss duel, not by buying anything from her. The weapon fires faster while aiming down sights, which makes it a reliable pick for medium-range fights.

Quick answer: Land on the small island north of The Battlewoods, near the Bus Stop Landmark east of Lifty Lodge, talk to Poison Ivy, and pick Challenge Poison Ivy. Defeating her drops the Mythic Ranger Pistol.

Where to Find Poison Ivy

Poison Ivy stays on the small island directly north of The Battlewoods and east of Lifty Lodge. She holds a fixed position along the shoreline near the Bus Stop Landmark, so she never wanders around the island during a match.

She does not appear in the in-game Characters menu, so there is no map marker to follow. You have to rotate or glide to the island and spot her yourself. Land early, because another player can hire or defeat her first, which removes her from the match for everyone else.

Hire or Duel: Only the Duel Drops the Pistol

When you reach Poison Ivy, you get two options, and they lead to very different outcomes. Only one of them gives you the Mythic weapon.

Hire350 gold barsShe joins as a Scout Specialist who marks nearby enemies and chests.
Challenge (Duel)FreeBoss fight; beating her drops the Mythic Ranger Pistol and possible extra loot.

You can only pick one, so choose based on your run. Hiring helps squads that want map awareness, while dueling is the route to a strong early weapon. If you are here for the pistol, take the duel.

How to Beat Poison Ivy in the Duel

Poison Ivy fights with her own rapid-fire pistol, so pushing to point-blank range works against you. She lands the most damage up close, and staying at medium range cuts down how often she hits you.

Keep your distance and fight from mid range. This reduces the damage from her rapid pistol fire while still letting you land clean shots.
Move constantly to avoid her Stink Grenades. They create gas clouds that deal damage over time, so never stand in the cloud.
Keep firing when she wraps herself in a healing field. The regeneration is slow, so steady pressure finishes her before it matters. Her health pool is small, so most loadouts can take her down without top-tier gear.

You will know it worked when she is defeated and drops her loot on the spot. Walk over the drops to pick up the Mythic Ranger Pistol.

Other Drops From the Fight

Beyond the pistol, Poison Ivy has a chance to drop a Mythic Batman Sprite when defeated. That Sprite grants the ability to launch into the air and deploy the Bat Cape. It comes in several variants, with the base version dropping most often.

  • Base (most common)
  • Gold
  • Gummy
  • Galaxy
  • Holofoil

Note: The Batman Sprite drop is disabled when you are fighting bots instead of real players, so it only appears in matches against real opponents.

Poison Ivy is one of three DC bosses in the Hot Bat Summer update, alongside Harley Quinn and Catwoman, and each drops its own exclusive Mythic reward. If you want the Ranger Pistol specifically, the fight is quick and forgiving, and the boosted fire rate while aiming down sights makes it worth adding to your loadout for the rest of the match.
