Place high enough in the Solo tournament on July 15-16 to earn the Odysseus outfit and matching cosmetics without spending V-Bucks.

Place high enough in the Solo tournament on July 15-16 to earn the Odysseus outfit and matching cosmetics without spending V-Bucks.

The Odysseus skin is Fortnite’s tie-in to Christopher Nolan’s take on Homer’s epic, and Epic Games is handing it out for free to competitive players before it ever reaches the shop. The catch is that you have to earn it through The Odyssey Cup, a Solo tournament running across Battle Royale and Zero Build in Chapter 7 Season 3.

Quick answer: Enter The Odyssey Cup on July 15-16, 2026 through the in-game Compete tab and finish inside your region’s qualifying rank to unlock the Odysseus outfit, the Xiphos pickaxe, and the Bow of Iphytus back bling for free.

The Odyssey Cup dates and format

The Odyssey Cup is a Solo event scheduled for July 15-16, 2026. You can play it in both Battle Royale and Zero Build, and your best results count toward your regional leaderboard. Everything is handled through the Compete tab inside Fortnite, where the exact session times for your region are listed.

There is also a separate Mobile version of the cup that runs in Reload mode. With Fortnite back on iOS, mobile players get their own leaderboard and their own smaller set of qualifying slots, so you don’t have to compete against PC and console players to claim the outfit.

Rewards and the rank you need

The full Odysseus set is split between placement rewards and point-based rewards. The outfit and its matching cosmetics go to top finishers, while the spray and loading screen only require you to score a set number of points during the cup.

RewardRequirement
Odysseus skinTop placement (see regional table)
Odysseus’ Xiphos pickaxeTop placement (see regional table)
Bow of Iphytus back blingTop placement (see regional table)
King’s Helm spray40 points
The Trojan War loading screen8 points

The King’s Helm spray and The Trojan War loading screen are the easiest pieces to secure because they only depend on points, not final rank. Earning 8 points across your matches gets you the loading screen, and 40 points unlocks the spray.

Qualifying ranks by region

The placement needed for the outfit changes depending on where you play, since each region has a different player pool. Here is where you need to finish in the main Battle Royale and Zero Build cup.

AsiaTop 100
Middle EastTop 100
EuropeTop 1000
BrazilTop 200

The Mobile cup in Reload mode uses a tighter set of slots. If you are playing on a phone or tablet, aim for these placements instead.

How to enter and compete

Open Fortnite and go to the Compete tab. Look for The Odyssey Cup entry, which shows the session window for your region.
Pick the correct version for your platform. Choose the Battle Royale or Zero Build cup on PC and console, or the Reload-mode Mobile cup if you are playing on a phone or tablet.
Play your matches during the scheduled window and score points through eliminations and placement. Reaching 8 points secures the loading screen, and 40 points secures the spray along the way.
Push for the qualifying rank in your region. Only players who finish inside their region’s cutoff earn the Odysseus outfit, pickaxe, and back bling.

How to confirm you earned the skin

Competitive cup rewards are not granted instantly at the final whistle. Once the cup ends and Epic finalizes the leaderboards, the cosmetics you qualified for are added to your Locker. Check the Locker after the event closes to confirm the Odysseus outfit and its extras have landed on your account.

The most common reason players miss out is simply finishing below their region’s cutoff. Since the qualifying rank varies widely between regions, focus on the exact number listed for where you play rather than a general top-100 target.

If you miss the cup: the Item Shop route

Falling short of the qualifying rank does not lock you out of the skin permanently. The Odysseus outfit is also heading to the Fortnite Item Shop, where anyone can buy it with V-Bucks. Expect it to appear on July 17, 2026, at 8 PM ET, which lines up with the theatrical release of Nolan’s The Odyssey the same day.

Competing in the cup is still the only way to get the full set at no cost, so if the free route matters to you, it is worth entering on July 15-16 before the shop listing goes live.
