Fortnite Madison Beer Icon Cup: How to Unlock the Skin for Free

Epic is giving away one of the two Madison Beer Icon Series outfits through a set of competitive cups that run on the same day the collab lands in the Item Shop. There are three separate events, each with its own format and its own reward cutoff, and every one of them is a one-shot deal — you get a single session window to put up points.

Quick answer: Place Top 200 in the Madison Beer Icon Mobile Cup (Solo Reload) or Top 500 in either Duos cup in your region on Thursday, September 24 to earn Satin Angel Madison for free.

What the Madison Beer Icon Cup awards

The prize pool is the Satin Angel Madison outfit and the Madison’s Angel Wings back bling. The outfit is an Icon Series skin with selectable styles and music-reactive elements, and it carries a LEGO style for use in LEGO Fortnite Odyssey and LEGO Fortnite Brick Life. It is usable in Battle Royale, Fortnite Festival, Rocket Racing, and Reload.

The wings are described in-game as feather-soft and react to music, matching the outfit. Everything else in the collection — the Make You Mine Madison outfit, the Mookie & Maple Plushies back bling, the pickaxes, the Bittersweet and Yes Baby emotes, and the three Jam Tracks — is Item Shop only and cannot be earned through the cups.

Eligibility requirements you need to clear first

Every cup card in the Compete tab has an eligibility check attached to it, and the card shows a running tally such as “7/8 Requirements met” until you satisfy all of them. Sort these out before the window opens, because some of them cannot be fixed in a hurry.

You must be 13 or older, or meet your country’s minimum age.

Account lock — only one account may be used to take part

The account lock means you cannot hop to an alt if your first session goes badly. Whichever account you play the event on is the account tied to the event. Full competitive terms sit in the Fortnite rules library.

The three cups and their reward cutoffs

All three events run on Battle Royale’s Reload mode, but they split across solo, build Duos, and Zero Build Duos, so there is a lane for most player types. The mobile cup is the only solo bracket.

The two Duos cups sit side by side on the calendar and share the same window, so you have to commit to one. Build players take the standard Reload cup; everyone else takes the Zero Build version.

Session length and regional start times

The mobile cup runs for 1 hour and 15 minutes, and the Duos cups run for 2 hours and 30 minutes. In Europe, for example, the solo mobile session ran from 6:00 PM to 7:15 PM with the Duos cups following from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM. Both Duos cups overlap the tail end of the mobile session, which is worth planning around if you want to play more than one.

Start times shift by region, and the cups are scheduled across OCE, NA, NAC, NAW, NAE, ME, ASIA, BR, and EU. Your exact local window is listed on the event card in the Compete tab and on the official Madison Beer Icon Cup event page, which also carries a live countdown for your region.

Queues close when the session window ends, not when your match ends, so get your last game in well before the clock runs out.

Scoring: placement and elimination points

Each elimination is worth 2 points, and eliminations only count up to the tenth one in a match. That caps elimination scoring at 20 points per game, which means placement carries most of the weight.

A Victory Royale with ten or more eliminations is worth 80 points, while a 12th-place finish with no kills is worth 4. In a Reload format where you can redeploy after dying, surviving deep into the match is the more reliable way to build a score.

How placement thresholds work per region

Leaderboards are regional, so you are only competing against players in your own server region. In Europe, the Duos cups award the outfit and back bling to the Top 500 duos, while the solo mobile cup pays out to the Top 200 players. The exact cutoff for your region is printed in the Prizes panel on that event’s card, so check it before you queue rather than assuming the European number applies everywhere.

How to enter the cup in game

Open Fortnite and go to the Compete tab from the main lobby. The calendar there lists every scheduled event for the day, with the three Madison Beer cups grouped under Thursday, September 24.

Select the cup you want and open its eligibility check. Any unmet requirement is shown without a checkmark, and the card keeps a lock icon until you clear all of them.

Fix whatever is missing. Turning on MFA and reaching account level 50 are the two that take the longest, and the security settings for Secure Boot, TPM, and IOMMU are handled outside the game on your PC.

For a Duos cup, invite your partner to your party before the window opens. Both players need to pass the eligibility check independently, and both need to be in the same region.

Queue once the session goes live and play as many matches as the window allows. You know the setup worked when the lock icon disappears from the event card, the requirement tally reads as fully met, and the Play button puts you into the tournament playlist rather than a standard match.

If the competitive route does not work out, the full Madison Beer collection reaches the Item Shop on September 24 at 5PM PT / 8PM ET and stays in rotation until October 4, 2026. Both outfits, the two back blings, the pickaxes, the emotes, and the three Jam Tracks can be bought individually or as a bundle — but Satin Angel Madison is the only piece with a free path attached to it.
