Fortnite Star Wars Droid Tycoon: Three Unlisted Changes, Including the AFK Scrap Patch

A new iconic droid, a patched scrap glitch, and visible Protocol Crates arrived without a mention in the notes.

Star Wars Droid Tycoon is a Fortnite Creative experience built by FOAD and Blzn Studios, where you craft Star Wars droids, send them on missions, and set them to earn credits. Its most recent update carried more than what the written patch notes spelled out. Three changes landed quietly inside the game, and one of them shuts down a farming trick players had leaned on for a while.

Quick answer: A new WG-22 iconic battle droid now appears in the Droidex, the side bars on the scrap station were removed to kill the AFK scrap glitch, and completed Protocol Crates are now visible to everyone instead of acting as invisible barriers.

WG-22 added to the Droidex iconic catalog

The Droidex, the in-game catalog that tracks every droid, now lists a new entry named WG-22. It sits in the Default section on page 5 of 5, under the Iconic rarity tier alongside other iconic droids such as IG-11 Marshal and X-ONK.

WG-22 is classified as a Battle droid, and its listed perk is 2x Flawless Chance. Its Droidex entry currently shows a count of 0, meaning it had not yet been obtained when the catalog was opened. The addition points to WG-22 being a droid players will be able to collect, rather than a cosmetic-only listing.

Scrap station AFK glitch patched by removing side bars

The scrap station, the bench where you break down droids for materials, had safety railings running along its sides. Those side bars created a pocket players could wedge themselves into, which let them lock an auto-swing in place and farm scrap without touching the controller.

Those side bars and props have now been removed from the bench. Without the geometry to brace against, there is no longer a spot to pin the character for continuous AFK scrapping. The change is purely environmental, so there is no patch-note line describing it, but the effect is clear once you walk up to the station.

Protocol Crates are now fully visible

Protocol Crates are the reward containers you get from completing missions. Before this update, a finished crate could sit on the map as an invisible object, so other players would bump into a hitbox with nothing drawn there.

The crates now render as large, glowing yellow-and-white boxes that everyone on the map can see, carrying a PROTOCOL CRATE READY! prompt with a Get Reward option. Making the model visible removes the invisible-barrier problem and signals that a reward is waiting to be claimed.

None of these three appeared in the written changelog for the update, which focused on the Gonk-o-Ween event, Nova Shop additions, and droid balance tweaks. They are the kind of adjustments you only notice by playing, and together they expand the Droidex, remove a known farming exploit, and clean up how reward crates behave in a shared session.
