Fortnite Week 9 Quest: Stockpile Weapons from Rivalry Vending Stations

The Week 9 challenge in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2 asks you to stockpile three weapons from Rivalry Vending Stations. It rewards 20,000 XP and counts every weapon purchase at a Rivalry machine, including repeat buys of the same gun, as long as the station still has stock.

⚔️
Quick answer: Spend Rival Credits at any Rivalry Vending Station to buy three weapons. Each purchase ticks the counter by one, and you can buy the same weapon twice before it goes out of stock.

What counts for the Stockpile quest

Only weapons bought from the Rivalry Vending Station count. These are the dedicated kiosks sitting beneath a large screen labeled RIVALRIES, not the standard Weapon-O-Matic, Mending Machine, or Special-O-Matic vending machines scattered around the map. Standard vending machines do not accept Rival Credits and will not advance the quest.

Each Rivalry station has three parts: a central screen used to start a Rivalry, a left terminal for RIVALRY WEAPONS, and a right terminal for RIVALRY GEAR. Only purchases from the weapons terminal count toward stockpiling.

How to get Rival Credits

Weapons at the Rivalry terminal are paid for with Rival Credits, not gold bars. You earn credits by completing Rivalries against other players.

Step 1: Walk up to a Rivalry screen on the map (marked by a sword icon) and interact with the central console to start a Rivalry. Both you and your target will see each other's general location highlighted by a red zone.

Step 2: Eliminate your rival before the timer expires. A RIVALRY WON! banner confirms the kill, and a Rivalry Contract drops at the elimination site.

Step 3: Pick up the Rivalry Contract. You receive +10 Rivalry Credits per secured contract, which is enough for one Legendary weapon at the most common 50-credit price point.

Buying weapons at the station

Once you have credits, head back to any Rivalry screen. Landmarks like Collider Corridor Theta and Dark Dominion both have working stations, but any Rivalry kiosk on the map works the same way.

Step 1: Interact with the left terminal labeled RIVALRY WEAPONS. The interface displays the available stock with a cost in credits next to each item.

Step 2: Confirm the purchase. The weapon drops at your feet, and your stockpile counter ticks up by one. Pick it up so you can free the slot if you plan to buy again.

Step 3: Repeat at the same station or a different one until you reach 3/3. Each station typically stocks two copies of a given weapon before showing OUT OF STOCK, so you may need to visit a second kiosk for the final purchase.

Sample Rivalry Weapons pricing

Prices and stock rotate per match, but the weapons terminal commonly shows a Mythic boss item alongside a Legendary weapon at a much lower cost. Buying the cheaper option twice is the fastest path to three purchases.

WeaponRarityTypical cost
Caduceus StaffLegendary50 Rival Credits
Vector 7 DMRLegendary50 Rival Credits
Combat Assault RifleLegendary50 Rival Credits
Foundation's Power GlovesMythic90 Rival Credits
Lawful Shockwave Rocket LauncherExoticHigher (rank-gated)

Some Exotic and high-rarity options are locked behind a Rivalry Wins requirement, displayed next to the item. If you see a lock and a win count, you cannot buy that weapon yet, but cheaper unlocked options on the same screen still count for the stockpile quest.

How to confirm the quest is done

Open the Quests menu and look under Weekly Highlights, Week 9. The Stockpile weapons from Rivalry Vending Stations entry updates immediately after each purchase. When the counter reads 3/3, the 20,000 XP is awarded, and the quest shows a green checkmark.

⚠️
If the counter does not move, you bought from a standard Weapon-O-Matic instead of the Rivalry Weapons terminal. The Rivalry kiosk always sits directly under the giant RIVALRIES sign.

Common reasons the quest does not progress

  • You used a Weapon-O-Matic, Mending Machine, or Special-O-Matic instead of a Rivalry Vending Station.
  • You bought from the right-hand Rivalry Gear terminal (Chug Splash, perks, XP boosts) rather than the weapons terminal.
  • The station was already out of stock for both available weapons. Move to a different Rivalry screen on the map.
  • You spent credits on a service like "Mark on Damage" or "5000 XP" instead of a weapon.

Stick to the left weapons terminal, keep at least 50 Rival Credits on hand, and rotate between two Rivalry screens if one runs dry. Three purchases close out the quest, and any leftover credits carry into other Rivalry rewards like Exotic weapons later in the season.
