Forza Horizon 6 moves the Horizon Festival to an open-world Japan, with more than 550 cars to collect, customize, and drive. It is the first mainline Horizon game built only for current-generation hardware, and it is already live on Xbox Series X|S and PC, with a PlayStation 5 version planned to follow.

Quick answer: Forza Horizon 6 is playable now on Xbox Series X|S and PC. Early access opened on May 15, 2026, the standard launch was May 19, 2026, and a PS5 release is planned for later this year.

Where to play Forza Horizon 6

The game runs on Xbox Series X|S consoles and on PC through the Microsoft Store and Steam. It skips Xbox One entirely, making it the first Forza Horizon entry to leave that hardware behind since the series began. Xbox One owners can still reach it only through Xbox Cloud Gaming with a strong, stable connection.

If you buy the game digitally, Xbox Play Anywhere lets you play across both console and PC from a single purchase. A PS5 version is coming later in the year, and you can add it to your wishlist on the PlayStation Store to be notified when it goes live.

Forza Horizon 6 editions compared

Three editions are sold directly, plus two upgrade routes for players who already own the base game. The Standard Edition is the full game. The Deluxe Edition adds the Car Pass and the Welcome Pack. The Premium Edition bundles in VIP Membership, both car packs, and the two Expansions, and it grants the earliest start.

If you already own the Standard or Deluxe Edition, two upgrade paths cover the gap. The Premium Upgrade adds everything in the Premium Edition, and the Premium Add-Ons Bundle does the same for Standard or Deluxe owners.

Forza Horizon 6 on Xbox Game Pass

The standard edition is part of Xbox Game Pass and arrived for members at the May 19 launch. It is included for PC Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate at no extra cost, but it is not part of Game Pass Essential, Premium, or the Starter tier. Ultimate members can play on Xbox Series X|S consoles, PC, or Xbox Cloud Gaming.

You will know access is working when the game appears in your Game Pass library and installs without a separate purchase. If you paid for an upgrade bundle but see no download option, install the game to your console through the Xbox mobile app, then apply the bundle content afterward.

The opening to the festival in Japan has already drawn a large crowd, with more than 6 million players in its early weeks. Whether you start with the Standard Edition on Game Pass or buy into Premium for the earliest access and full add-on set, the differences come down to how many cars, perks, and Expansions you want bundled in from day one.
