Game of Thrones: Dragonfire – Every Season 3 Dragon Returns Until August 24

Boosted hatch rates on all five House of the Dragon Season 3 dragons run through August 24 at 10AM ET.

Boosted hatch rates on all five House of the Dragon Season 3 dragons run through August 24 at 10AM ET.

Warner Bros. Games and HBO are closing out House of the Dragon Season 3 in Game of Thrones: Dragonfire with a Celebration Event that puts every dragon released during the season back in the Hatchery at the same time. It is a short window, and once it closes, the five dragons drop back to their normal rates.

Quick answer: Open the Hatchery in Game of Thrones: Dragonfire before August 24 at 10AM ET to hatch Sheepstealer, Vermax, Tessarion, Sunfyre, or Moondancer at increased success rates. After that time, standard drop rates return.

The five Season 3 dragons and what they bring

Each dragon is built to match its on-screen version, down to color, roar, and temperament. More usefully for players, each one carries a passive Habit ability, a troop affinity, and its own synergy options, so the choice is not purely cosmetic.

DragonRiderRarity and role
SheepstealerRhaena TargaryenLegendary Hunter
VermaxJacaerys VelaryonEpic Warrior
TessarionDaeron TargaryenEpic Champion
SunfyreAegon II TargaryenLegendary Sentinel
MoondancerBaela TargaryenLegendary Warrior

Sheepstealer and Vermax were the first pair to appear, arriving in the Hatchery alongside the season premiere week and leaving on July 5. The Celebration Event is the point where all five sit in the same pool.

Watch-Along rewards are still claimable through October 1

The Watch-Along Event outlasts the Hatchery window. If you have not finished the season, you can still link your HBO Max and Warner Bros. Games accounts and collect the per-episode rewards until October 1. Each episode you watch unlocks one specific reward, and finishing all eight pays out the final prize.

EpisodeReward
13 Standard Key
2250 Gold
31,000 Dragon Food
42,000 Runic Fragments
52,000 Amplifier Seals
61,000 Valyrian Tablets
7500 Dragonlord Scrolls
81 Premium Key
All 8 complete15 Caraxes shards

Account linking is handled through the official Dragonfire site, and it is the one step that gates everything else. Rewards do not accrue retroactively from watching on an unlinked account, and episodes you have not finished do not count toward the eight-episode total.

How to confirm the event is live for you

Update to the current build before doing anything else. The Hatchery pool and event timers are server-driven, but an outdated client can leave you looking at the wrong lineup.
Open the Hatchery and check that all five Season 3 dragons are listed together. If only some appear, the Celebration Event has not applied to your account yet, or the window has already closed.
Link your HBO Max and Warner Bros. Games accounts if you want the Watch-Along rewards. Once linked, watched episodes register against the reward track and the corresponding items are granted in game.

Note: the two deadlines are separate. Boosted hatch rates end August 24 at 10AM ET, while the Watch-Along reward track stays open until October 1.

What the season looked like across the player base

Warner Bros. Games put out a set of aggregate numbers to mark the end of the season. Players have hatched more than six million dragons in total. Sheepstealer alone has been fed close to 288 million pounds of livestock, and more than 2.3 million Black Goats have been cleared out of the cursed depths beneath Harrenhal.

Those Black Goat hunts came out of the Week 2 events, which had players taking tiles in Rhaenyra Targaryen’s name and unlocking scenes centered on Daemon Targaryen. Week 1 covered the Battle of the Gullet, with Triarchy raiders to hunt and narrative beats built around Aemond Targaryen. New content landed every Monday, following each Sunday broadcast.

The show’s season is finished, but the game is not slowing down. Warner Bros. Games has published another entry in its Dragonfire Chronicles developer diary series covering how the studio turned House of the Dragon‘s events into playable content, and it says further features, story content, and dragons are planned for future updates. No specific date has been confirmed for the next drop. For now, the practical deadline is the one on the Hatchery clock.
