The Sunny Summer Fontinalia update lands July 1 with a new Cryo Harbinger, a lunar map, and three quick-expiring codes.

Version Luna VIII, also labeled Genshin Impact 6.7, closes out the Nod-Krai cycle before the jump to 7.0. The “Sunny Summer Fontinalia” update arrives on July 1, 2026, and it brings the playable debut of Sandrone, reruns of three older five-stars, a brand-new explorable area on Teyvat’s Frost Moon, and a new elemental reaction called Stellar-Conduct.

Quick answer: Luna VIII releases July 1, 2026. Redeem the three livestream codes (Marionette, TotheMoon, TeaPartyTime) before they expire on June 22, 2026 at 12:00 AM (UTC-4) to claim 300 Primogems and bonus materials.

Luna VIII redeem codes and expiry

Three codes were handed out during the special program. Each grants 100 Primogems plus a secondary reward. They are time-limited and stop working on June 22, 2026 at 12:00 AM (UTC-4), so claim them first. You can enter them on the official redemption page or in-game through Settings, then Account, then Redeem Code.

CodeRewards
Marionette100 Primogems, 10 Mystic Enhancement Ore
TotheMoon100 Primogems, 5 Hero’s Wit
TeaPartyTime100 Primogems, 50,000 Mora

You know a code worked when the linked Primogems and items land in your in-game mail. The most common failure is an expired window or entering a code on an account below Adventure Rank 10, since redemption requires that rank.

Sandrone, the new Cryo Harbinger

Sandrone, the Marionette of the Fatui Harbingers, is the only new playable character in Luna VIII. She is a five-star Cryo unit who wields a Claymore and can flex between DPS and Sub-DPS roles. Her kit ties directly into the update’s new reaction system.

Story-wise, Sandrone is a Fontainian automaton built by Alain Guillotin and modeled after his late sister, Mary-Ann. She fell during the climactic fight against Dottore, and her core was later salvaged, setting up her return in a rebuilt form. Her former companion Pulonia is gone, replaced by a new automaton servant named Fagio.

Luna VIII banner schedule

The update splits into two phases. Sandrone headlines the first half next to a Citlali rerun, while the Raiden Shogun and Columbina share the second half. Each character runs alongside their signature weapon on the Epitome Invocation banner.

PhaseDatesFeatured five-starsSignature weapons
Phase 1July 1 – July 21, 2026Sandrone (new), CitlaliA Teaspoon of Transcendence, Starcaller’s Watch
Phase 2July 21 – August 11, 2026Raiden Shogun, ColumbinaEngulfing Lightning, Nocturne’s Curtain Call

A Teaspoon of Transcendence is Sandrone’s five-star Claymore and her best-in-slot signature option.

Stellar-Conduct reaction and the buffed characters

Luna VIII introduces Stellar-Conduct, an upgraded version of the Superconduct reaction. A set of older units receives reworks built to synergize with it, triggered through a Polar Star Field tied to a revelation from Barbeloth, a witch of the Hexenzirkel.

The buffs only activate while these characters are in a party with Sandrone, and Cryo Traveler is expected to enable them once Snezhnaya unlocks. The affected units are listed below.

  • Wriothesley
  • Yae Miko
  • Qiqi
  • Cyno
  • Yumemizuki Mizuki
  • Diona
  • Beidou

These five-star units and their weapons appear on a dedicated banner called Lightrace Wish. Its pity counter is shared with the Chronicled Wish banner, so pulls carry over between the two.

The Moon map and main quest

The Frost Moon area (HoYoverse)

The headline addition takes you off Teyvat and onto its Frost Moon. The Traveler follows a visibly troubled Columbina to a Lunar Shuttle, which carries you to the surface. The area is split into several smaller regions with low gravity, echoing the earlier lunar visit, and a world quest called Moon Gazing guides your journey there.

Expect new gameplay mechanics exclusive to the Moon, fresh creatures including the Prism Slime, and side content layered with rewards. A teaser for the upcoming Snezhnaya region also played during the program.

Events, outfits, and quality-of-life changes

The summer special, Sunny Summer Fontinalia, returns players to Fontaine for the Fontinalia Film Festival with Columbina along for the ride. It is a permanent event, so there is no rush to clear it, and it rewards Primogems, ascension materials, and more through mini-games and a quest. Two new skins arrive with it.

Additional events round out the patch, including Final Long-Range Sightlines (a shooting event), Dance Dance Easy-Breezy Disco (a dance event), and Leyline Overflow, which doubles drops on XP materials and Mora.

Two notable system updates ship as well. Quest dialogue now supports a setting that lets a single click advance to the next line even mid-transition, cutting the wait through animations. The map also gains a layer indicator that shows which terrain layer you are currently on, so chests and treasures across layers are easier to track.

With the Frost Moon opening up and Stellar-Conduct reshaping a roster of returning units, Luna VIII does more than wrap up Nod-Krai. It sets the table for Snezhnaya and Version 7.0, and the permanent summer event means you can take the festivities at your own pace well after launch.
