Version 6.6.0 keeps the spotlight on Lunar reactions, where Lunar-Charged and Lunar-Crystallize teams reward characters that apply elements off-field and stack mastery for the whole party. That shift, combined with the wide-hitting Anemo hypercarries introduced earlier in the 6.x cycle, decides who sits at the top right now. The patch adds Nicole and Prune to the roster, and the rankings below reflect Spiral Abyss usage, team flexibility, and how each unit performs at Constellation 0.
Quick answer: Build around the S-tier enablers first. Ineffa, Linnea, Lauma, and Columbina power the Lunar teams, while Skirk, Neuvillette, Arlecchino, Mavuika, and Varka are the strongest damage carries to anchor them.

S-tier damage carries
These are the on-field hitters that finish fights fast. Pick one to lead a team, then surround it with the enablers covered further down.
Skirk is a top Cryo DPS who spends Serpent’s Subtlety instead of Energy on her Burst, Havoc: Ruin, and builds damage through Void Rifts. She wants CRIT and ATK%, pairs naturally with Escoffier and Furina in Freeze teams, and keeps strong interruption resistance through her combos.
Neuvillette remains one of the most reliable carries in the game. He is a Hydro Catalyst user built around Charged Attacks, and he slots into almost any roster that can keep him on field.

Arlecchino is a self-sufficient Pyro polearm DPS who scales her own damage without needing a healer. A well-known lineup pairs her with Yelan, Xingqiu, and Kazuha for steady Vaporize pressure.
Mavuika swaps between on-field DPS and off-field Pyro application. Her Fighting Spirit mechanic lets you adjust her output to the team, which keeps her flexible across many comps.

Varka sets the bar for the newer hypercarry design. His Cryo claymore kit infuses his weapon, stacks Boreal Energy as he hits, and releases a heavy AoE blow at maximum stacks, while his Burst grants a team-wide damage bonus and interruption resistance. He scales with ATK and CRIT DMG and thrives in Physical and Swirl-leaning teams.
Hu Tao still hits hard as a Pyro polearm DPS. Her dash-canceled charged attacks chain into Vaporize or Melt with Hydro and Cryo partners, and her Burst restores some of her HP while pressuring grouped enemies.
S-tier Lunar enablers and supports
The current meta runs on supports that apply elements off-field and buff the whole team. These units make or break a Lunar-reaction roster.

Ineffa powers up the Lunar-Charged reaction, applies Electro off-field, and hands the team a shield. She works best with Hydro partners and wants ATK, CRIT, Elemental Mastery, and a little Energy Recharge, paired with Lunar-reaction artifact sets and her signature polearm.
Linnea buffs Lunar-Crystallize, shreds Geo resistance, and shares team-wide Elemental Mastery while healing. She fits Geo cores with Zibai, Navia, and Itto, and scales with DEF, CRIT, EM, and some Energy Recharge.
Lauma is a Dendro catalyst support who creates a large field that applies Dendro and upgrades Bloom into Lunar-Bloom. Her strength scales with Elemental Mastery, lifting the entire team’s reaction damage.

Columbina is the standout Lunar enabler and a strong off-field Hydro unit. She is built for Lunar-Charged teams alongside Flins, but she pulls her weight in most Electro-themed rosters too.

Furina stays one of the best sub-DPS units in the game. She alternates between Pneuma and Ousia alignments, changing her skill effects, and offers broad team compatibility that Columbina cannot match outside Lunar-Charged setups.

Kazuha is the go-to Anemo support for grouping and elemental damage bonuses, and many players treat him as a near-mandatory pickup. Xilonen shreds enemy resistance for Pyro, Hydro, Electro, and Cryo teams, building DEF and Energy Recharge with the Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City set.

Bennett still delivers some of the best healing and ATK buffing in the game through his Inspiration Field. Zhongli anchors defensive teams with a shield that cuts enemy elemental and physical resistance, and Nahida remains the premier Dendro enabler with wide AoE and a strong team-wide Elemental Mastery share.

New 6.6.0 characters: Nicole and Prune
Version 6.6.0 introduces two units to the roster. Nicole is a Pyro support who lands in the top bracket thanks to flexible team value. Prune is an Anemo support that performs well at higher constellations and rounds out the A tier. A further character, Lohen, is listed as in development, but no official release date is currently confirmed.
A-tier and reliable mid-tier picks

The A tier holds characters that clear endgame content cleanly inside the right team. Anemo supports like Venti and Sucrose deliver crowd control and Elemental Mastery sharing, Ayaka and Ganyu stay strong Cryo carries, and Kokomi covers healing plus steady Hydro application. Childe, Ayato, Itto, and Xiangling all bring dependable damage with established synergies.
Alhaitham earns a place here as a Dendro sword DPS who clears multiple targets once you learn his rotation. Newer faces such as Varesa, Wriothesley, Chasca, and the four-star Iansan also fit comfortably, with Iansan buffing movement-heavy teams while she builds ATK and Energy Recharge.
Lower tiers and units to skip

B-tier characters like Nilou, Chiori, and Xianyun excel only inside their best team configurations, while Diluc, Keqing, and Tighnari keep respectable output without the universal reach of higher tiers. The C tier holds specialists such as Klee, Lyney, Yoimiya, Cyno, and Eula that need heavy investment or narrow comps to shine.
The D tier covers Aloy, Amber, Qiqi, and Dehya. Each has a unique mechanic, but they demand significant investment or very specific teams to keep pace with the alternatives.
How these ranks are decided
Each character is judged at Constellation 0 with strong free-to-play weapon options, weighing ATK and CRIT potential, Spiral Abyss clear rates, player usage, rotation comfort, and team flexibility. Units that slot into many comps rank above one-team specialists, and ease of use also lifts placement.
Treat the table as a starting point rather than a hard rule. Every character can clear all current content with enough investment and the right team, so a unit you enjoy playing will always outperform a top-tier pick you never use.
