“On White Wings Pierce Through Cloud and Fog” is the second part of the Silverwing in Pursuit of the Moon event quest in Genshin Impact. You escort the lingering spirit of Lan Junming, the founder known as the Wind Reader, along a road toward Wangshu Inn for a Moon-Viewing Gathering. The route mixes a banner combat trial, a flying rattan figure minigame, and a long banquet cutscene that restores his lost memory.
Quick answer: Advance your in-game clock two days to a time between 08:00 and 12:00, then travel Yilong Wharf → Dihua Marsh → Wangshu Inn, clearing the banner trial and rattan minigame along the way to complete the quest.
Before you start the quest
The quest tracks a fixed in-game time window. Open the Festive Priorities menu, select “On White Wings Pierce Through Cloud and Fog,” and begin tracking it. The objective asks you to wait until two days later, within the 08:00 to 12:00 window.

Open your in-game clock and advance the time by two days to around 08:30, staying inside the 08:00 to 12:00 window. This is the trigger the quest waits for before it lets you proceed.
Teleport to Yilong Wharf in Chenyu Vale using the central waypoint. Approach Lan Yan and Lan Junming on the wooden balcony, where Lan Junming says he wants to see Chenyu Vale one last time before he leaves the mortal realm.

Warp to the Statue of The Seven by Stone Gate and Dihua Marsh. Head south along the road to a roadside tea stall, where Gaming is seated on his cart with Hu Tao, Xingqiu, and Chongyun.
Continue through the scene. Gaming recounts how possessed monsters ambushed his transport cart, while Lan Junming cautions that miasmic remnant spirits are taking over the fiends. Lan Yan suggests placing a protective banner and rattan figures to open up the route.
Activate the banner to start the combat trial. With the fixed team of Hu Tao, Lan Yan, Xingqiu, Chongyun, and Gaming, take down 20 possessed monsters in the area around the ritual banner. Each fiend you defeat feeds energy to the banner, increasing its energy level.
Finish the trial by defeating the Possessed Geovishap that spawns as the final enemy. Use the banner’s energy blast and elemental reactions to bring it down.
Take control of the flying rattan figure during the minigame. Steer left and right, jump, and use the Protection skill to dash forward while you collect Adeptal Energy and clear miasmic energy along the route to Dihua Marsh.
Crossing an Empowerment Gate gives you Protection. Activate the Protection skill as Errant Balefires strike to rebound their attacks onto the attacker and neutralize them. Absorption Gates automatically gather scattered energy.
Rejoin Gaming on the road, where he inspects his undamaged cargo. A cutscene then shows possessed horned beasts attacking; Xiao and the fisherman Jiangxue quickly take them out.
Speak with Xiao, who tells you a table has been reserved at Wangshu Inn for the Moon-Viewing Gathering. Teleport to the Wangshu Inn waypoint afterward.
Take the stairs up to the upper rooftop terrace and join the banquet. Xiangling serves the feast to the group, and you watch the story cutscenes play out.
Continue through the banquet dialogue until Hu Tao recites the ancient poem written by her ancestor, Old Man Wuwang. The poem triggers a flashback with the avian adeptus Silverwing and restores Lan Junming’s memory of his planned reunion, a pavilion east of Teatree Slope two days later.

How to confirm the quest is complete
Once the banquet cutscene ends and Lan Junming recovers his memory of the reunion site, the “Quest Completed” banner appears against the night sky and the reward screen shows the Primogems, Hero’s Wit, Mora, and Festive Cheer. Seeing that banner and collecting the rewards confirms you have finished this part of the chain and can move on to the next stage of Silverwing in Pursuit of the Moon.
