God of War Laufey Voice Cast: Who Plays Faye, Phranque, and Rue

God of War Laufey Voice Cast: Who Plays Faye, Phranque, and Rue

Santa Monica Studio used the most recent PlayStation State of Play to reveal God of War Laufey, the next mainline entry in the series. This time Kratos steps aside, and his wife Faye, whose true name is Laufey, becomes the playable lead. The reveal came with a long gameplay look and a short but confirmed list of who is voicing the new cast.

🎮
Quick answer: Deborah Ann Woll plays Faye/Laufey, Jack Quaid voices the cosmic cube Phranque, and Perlina Lau voices the living ribbon Rue.

God of War Laufey confirmed voice cast

The roster announced so far is small, focused on Faye and the two companions who travel with her through the Everywhen, the realm where all magic begins and eventually returns. Deborah Ann Woll is providing both the voice and the motion capture for Faye.

Deborah Ann Woll as Faye / Laufey

Deborah Ann Woll is reprising the role of Faye, the character whose funeral opened God of War (2018) and whose choices shaped both that game and God of War Ragnarök. Laufey was a Jötunn warrior and the last guardian of her people in Midgard, and the new game finally puts her front and center as a playable protagonist.

The story picks up after her funeral. Faye wakes in the Everywhen and learns that the plans she left behind to protect Kratos and Atreus are falling apart. Her combat is built around a large blade and soul-manipulation abilities, with fast, air-and-ground movement that pulls an enemy's soul out of its body to strike directly or hurl at other foes.

Woll is widely recognized for playing Karen Page across the Marvel Netflix shows, from the original Daredevil through The Defenders, the Punisher projects, and the Daredevil: Born Again revival. Her earlier work includes Jessica Hamby on True Blood and Amanda Harper in the Escape Room films.

Jack Quaid as Phranque

Phranque is a talkative cosmic cube who joins Faye in combat and exploration. He is written as earnest and curious, looking out for his friends and the beings of the Everywhen, and he is voiced by Jack Quaid.

Quaid is best known as Hughie in The Boys. His film credits include The Hunger Games, Scream (2022), Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Oppenheimer, Companion, and Novocaine.

Perlina Lau as Rue

Rue is a living, ribbon-like guardian tied to the power of Faye's sword, tasked with keeping that weapon out of the wrong hands. Because of that connection, Rue is expected to factor heavily into how the new combat system works. The role is voiced by Perlina Lau, an actress and producer with credits on shows including Creamerie and Friday Night Bites.

Kratos, Atreus, and the villains

Kratos and Atreus both appear in the gameplay footage. They are expected to feature again through Christopher Judge and Sunny Suljic, the actors who play them across the modern games, though it has not been confirmed whether their appearances use new recordings or existing material.

Two antagonists were highlighted in the reveal, the Egyptian goddess Sekhmet and Begtse, a figure from Tibetan Buddhist tradition. Their voice actors have not been announced, and the broader villain lineup remains undisclosed.

📅
God of War Laufey is in development for PlayStation 5. No release date or release window has been confirmed.

The cast list is likely to grow as Santa Monica Studio shares more, especially given the mix of mythologies hinted at in the Everywhen. For now, the confirmed names are Woll, Quaid, and Lau, with the official details posted on the PlayStation Blog.
