Gothic 1 Remake Orc Cemetery Quest: How to Find Baal Lukor and Both Key Halves

The Orc Cemetery is the final quest of Chapter 2 in Gothic 1 Remake, and it sends you into a tomb hidden behind a giant stone skull to track down a lost Templar named Baal Lukor. The route is packed with hard-hitting Orcs, and progress hinges on finding two broken halves of a key that open the inner door.

Quick answer: Talk to Cor Angar, follow Talas to the cemetery, shoot both target locks to open the skull gate, find Baal Lukor, collect both key halves (left tunnel for the first, then use the Orc Lever to unlock the second), open the door, beat Baal Lukor in the final chamber, then report to Cor Angar for 2,000 EXP and the Teleport to the Swamp Camp rune.


Reach the Orc Cemetery and open the skull gate

After the failed ceremony, speak with Cor Angar and Cor Kalom inside the Sleeper Temple. Exhaust the dialogue, and when Cor Angar offers the job, pick the line asking what you get paid to pocket an extra 70 nuggets before you leave.

Leave the temple and head down the stairs. Talas sits under a lean-to on the right side of the temple square, sometimes by the campfire. Talk to him and follow him to the bridge just outside the cemetery. He won’t go any further than that.
Cross the bridge and push through the rocky path. A Bloodhound, several Biters, and Orc Scouts guard the way, so fight them for experience or sprint past. A Templar is fighting near the skull structure, and helping him out is optional.

The giant skull is the gate. Grab the shortbow and arrows from the skeleton on the ground to the right if you don’t have a ranged weapon. Shoot the wooden target lock on each side of the skull, aiming slightly above each one to account for arrow drop. When both counterweights drop, the jaw opens.

Note: A Firebolt rune or any other projectile works just as well as arrows. You don’t need high Dexterity to use the shortbow, so even a melee build can clear this puzzle. Save before firing in case you miss.


Find Baal Lukor inside the catacombs

Walk down the long tunnel until you reach a room full of cages. Orc Scouts patrol here, and you can fight them inside or lure them back to the Templar outside. These Orcs hit hard and use a three-hit combo that can stun you, so dodge the swings and punish them during the pause after the third strike.

The open cells here hold loot, including Orcish Burial Amulets and a chained-lever puzzle that ends with the Ring of Ore Skin (+15 Edge, +15 Blunt). To start it, find the lowest open cage with a hole in the wall on the left side, crawl through, and climb to the lever above. Each lever opens the next cage until the final one with a red flag, where a corpse holds the ring.
Keep following the tunnels and killing Orcs until you reach a room where Baal Lukor is fighting two of them. Help him win, then talk to him and exhaust every dialogue option. He joins you for the rest of the quest and wants to open the keystone door, which needs two broken pieces of a key.

Find both halves of the key

Two tunnels lead away from the keystone door. Take the left tunnel first. Kill the Orc at the end and loot the dead Templar’s corpse to get the first Half A Key. The Rider’s Bow, an Extract of Healing, and a Krush Varrok are nearby as well.

Drop through the hole in the floor to your left. Defeat the two Orcs below and check the gated door, which has a broken lever slot beside it. You’ll need to find the missing lever before this opens.
Leave that room and go straight through the corridor, then turn left, clearing Orcs as you go. When you drop into a bloody room with more Orcs, search the bodies on the ground to find the Orc Lever lying near two corpses and a fire pit.

Carry the Orc Lever back to the gated door and slot it in to open the cage. Loot the corpse inside for the second Half A Key, then return to Baal Lukor. He combines the two pieces into the Gravestone Key (also called the Orc Graveyard Key) and leads you back to the door.

Open the keystone door and reach the final chamber

Use the completed key on the keystone door and head inside. The large room beyond holds an Orc Warrior and several Orc Scouts, plus a ruby on the altar worth grabbing. Clear every enemy before moving on.
Behind the altar, climb the rubble and ledge at the far end to reach the second floor. Follow the walkway to another door, which Baal Lukor opens using a Focus Stone.

Before following Baal Lukor through, loot the area. A locked chest at the end of the upper path can be picked for an Extract of Magic Energy and a Fear scroll, among other materials. Inside the hallway beyond the door, check the second hallway on the left for a chest holding the Warrior’s Ring of Power (+4 Strength, +4 Dexterity) and more potions and ammo.
Speak with Baal Lukor at the end of the hall. He breaks down and attacks with a fast three-move combo from his Judgement Sword. Let him finish each string, then punish him. He isn’t a tough fight, especially if he soaked up Orc hits earlier. After the kill, take the Focus from Ocean Cliff, his Judgement Sword if you want it, and the Sword of Fear planted in the center of the room.

Return to Cor Angar and confirm completion

Use the Focus on the door you entered through to open it again, then leave the cemetery and head back to Swamp Camp. Talk to Cor Angar to report Baal Lukor’s fate. The quest closes when he acknowledges the link between the Orcs and the Sleeper, which ends Chapter 2 and moves you into Chapter 3.

Once Cor Angar dismisses you, the next step depends on your alliance. Swamp Camp players are told Saturas is looking for them, New Camp players report to Lares before being sent to Gorn, and Old Camp players report to Raven and then seek out Diego at the marketplace. Meeting Diego or Gorn, or reading Lester’s letter, starts The Water Mages’ Plan and your Chapter 3 push for the Focus Stones.
