Cursed Fruits decide how your character fights in Grand Blue. Each one hands you a permanent kit built around damage, crowd control, range, or sustain, and the fruit you eat shapes every fight from island camps to ten-player docks. Here is where all ten public fruits stand, sorted from the ones worth building your whole account around to the ones you eat only to fill the bar.
Quick answer: Darkness and Flame are the two S-tier fruits; Cannon is the best realistic beginner pull at a 25% drop rate.

Full Cursed Fruit ranking
The table below groups every fruit by tier and lists its rarity and drop chance so you can weigh power against how often you will actually roll it. Tiers reflect gameplay value once the fruit is already in your mouth, balanced against rarity.
| Tier | Fruit | Rarity | Drop chance |
|---|---|---|---|
| S | Darkness | Celestial | 0.5% |
| S | Flame | Mythic | 1.5% |
| A | Chop | Epic | 6% |
| A | Wolf | Legendary | 5% |
| A | Bomb | Epic | 6% |
| A | Strength | Rare | 10% |
| B | Spike | Rare | 10% |
| B | Drain | Rare | 10% |
| C | Cannon | Uncommon | 25% |
| D | Spin | Uncommon | 25% |
How this was ranked: each fruit is judged on its skill kit, damage output, crowd control, range and sustain across island PvE, boss fights, and PvP, then weighed against how likely you are to pull it from a Fruit Chest. This reflects the September 2026 Early Access build, where drop rates and movesets can still change between updates.

Add to Google Preferences →S tier: Darkness and Flame
Darkness is the strongest all-round fruit in the game and the only one worth reshaping your Traits around the moment you land it. Black Hole and Black Vortex drag groups of enemies or players straight to you, which turns any messy fight into a clean combo setup. Its passive swallows incoming projectiles and fires them back on Liberation, seals disable enemy fruit skills, and Dark Matter delivers the best burst in the game. It carries PvP, PvE, and boss doors equally well.
Flame sits just behind, and it is the fruit questers want. Fire Gun and a chargeable Flame Fist cover both range and close quarters, Fire Commandment melts camps and crowds, and Fireflies heal you on every hit for real staying power. It scales exceptionally well into the endgame, which is why it edges out everything below it despite being a rare pull.
Both S-tier fruits are lottery tickets. Darkness is Celestial and Flame is Mythic, so most accounts will never see either. Do not treat opening chests as a plan to reach S tier.

A tier: the fruits you will actually main
Chop is the most divisive pick and lands high here for one reason: it grants immunity to sword-based attacks, and slashing is what most enemies and players lean on. Chop Chop Punch and Boomerang give it reach, Chop Chop Grab pulls targets in from long range to open a combo, and Chop Chop Car offers mobility no other fruit matches. Its raw damage trails the S tier, but the utility and defense are worth building around, and it is the easiest strong fruit to obtain.
Wolf is the aggressive melee pick. Transforming boosts speed and strength, Wolf Leap closes distance, and Wolf Bite lets you grab and drag targets while applying Bleed. It lacks the area damage of the top fruits, but it shines in extended duels and pairs cleanly with a Strength build and sword combos.
Bomb is the camp wiper and the best fruit for a newer player who can pull an Epic. Bomb Kick blends melee and explosion damage, Booger Bomb handles ranged crowds, and Self Destruct charges a heavy area blast. It is excellent for island quests and farming, though its readable blasts leave it weaker in one-on-one fights and boss rooms.
Strength is honest melee amplification. Galleon Lariat charges and knocks enemies back while Boulder Throw adds a ranged option, and it slots into any fighting style. At a 10% drop rate it is common enough to reliably build around, and it is a genuinely strong answer to Chop in PvP. The more you enjoy melee combat styles, the better it plays.

B tier: solid until you upgrade
Spike gives you range, zoning, and some area coverage. Spike Skewer hits around you, Spike Ball damages targets while rolling, and Spike Man adds ongoing damage to your brawling. It holds up well on docks and against players who only M1, but its overall damage makes it a fruit you replace later, and it struggles in a crowded boss room.
Drain is the sustain pick. Draining Touch powers up your skills when basic attacks connect, Essence Transfer heals you off enemies, and Essence Barrage strikes multiple targets in a line. It is a forgiving fruit while you learn combat and thrives against single tough enemies, but its damage cannot keep pace with the tiers above once you stop taking chip damage.
C and D tier: Cannon and Spin
Cannon is the range tutorial, and it is not exciting, but a 25% drop rate makes it the most realistic decent pull early on. Head Cannon and Artillery Cannon poke from a safe distance, and Cannon Form lets an ally fire alongside you. It has no melee, so its ceiling is low, and you should replace it the moment a Rare drops.
Spin is pure filler. Spin Assault launches you into enemies, Spin Flight moves you around quickly, and Dazing Hook adds a charged punch, but the damage and synergy are the weakest of any fruit. Eat it only if your bar is empty, then trade it without hesitation since mastery is saved per fruit.

Which Cursed Fruit to chase first
If you are starting out, aim for Cannon. It hits hard enough for early PvE, it is easy to pull from Fruit Chests, and it carries you until something better shows up. Once you have money saved for more chests, Spike, Strength, and Wolf are the next realistic upgrades, since all three offer well-rounded kits.
Darkness, Flame, and Chop are the fruits you want long term, but their Celestial, Mythic, and Epic rates mean plenty of chests or a lot of luck. Because Cannon and Spin together make up half of all drops and the three Rares another 30%, treat big chest pulls as fun rather than a route to S tier. If you do land one of the top fruits, commit to it and build your Traits and fighting style around it.
