Great Jerry’s Rusted Blade in NTE – Where to Find the Sword

Great Jerry is a pirate ghost who shows up on the shipwreck beach in Neverness to Everness, and his Strange Tale asks you to recover a rusted blade for his bonfire. The hard part is that he only appears at night, and the blade itself is hidden far from where he stands. Once you know both locations, the whole tale takes only a few minutes.

Quick answer: Spawn Great Jerry at night on the shipwreck beach behind Sunward Resort, accept his request, then take the Rusted Blade from the table on the resort’s second floor. Return to the bonfire, toss the blade into the fire, and talk to Jerry near the ship to complete it.

Where Great Jerry spawns on Sunni Island

Great Jerry appears beside the beach bonfire next to the wooden ship mast, on the southern shore behind the resort. He will not show up during the day, so set the in-game time to night before you look for him.

Teleport to the Sunni Island ReroRero Phone Booth. This is the fastest starting point for reaching the shipwreck beach.

Head south toward Sunward Resort, then move around behind the building. Drop south toward the beach where the shipwreck and bonfire sit.

Open the Time System and switch to nighttime. Great Jerry spawns near the bonfire once it is dark, which triggers his Strange Tale.

Talk to Great Jerry and keep selecting the first dialogue option until he asks for help finding his blade. When the response appears, choose the line that means “I’ll try” to accept the request.

If Jerry does not appear, confirm the time is set to night, then enter and exit any Character Trial to refresh the area.

Rusted Blade location (Sunward Resort second floor)

The blade sits on a table inside the resort, guarded by a couple of anglers who were talking about a tournament. You must accept Jerry’s request first, or the NPCs upstairs will not hand it over.

Teleport back to the Sunni Island ReroRero Phone Booth and head west along the road into the resort. Walk straight into the lobby.

Take the stairs on the right up to the second floor. Look toward the north side and find the two NPCs seated near a table, including the one named Ken.

Talk to them. If they will not respond, set the time to morning or step into a Character Trial and back out, then advance the time to the next day and speak with Ken again.

Pick up the Rusted Blade from the table once the dialogue finishes.

Complete the tale at the bonfire

With the blade in hand, return to the shipwreck beach where you first met Jerry. Track the Strange Tale from the map if you need a marker.

Set the time to 20:00 and approach the bonfire near the wooden boat.

Interact with the bonfire and choose the “Toss into the Fire” option to submit the Rusted Blade.

Great Jerry reappears near the ship one more time. Talk to him to finish the tale. Any dialogue choice works here.

How to know it worked and common reasons it fails

The tale is done when Great Jerry’s final conversation ends, and the Strange Tale shows as complete in your quest log. If something stalls before that, the cause is almost always a missing prerequisite or a refresh issue.
