Grounded 2 Into the Abyss: How to Farm Diving Bell Spider Sacs

Upgrade the Omni-Clipper to level 2, then clip the underwater sacs at Skunk Pond.

Upgrade the Omni-Clipper to level 2, then clip the underwater sacs at Skunk Pond.

Diving Bell Spiders leave sealed web pockets under the water in Grounded 2: Into the Abyss. Those Diving Bell Sacs hold insect parts, but they stay closed until you bring a stronger Omni-Clipper and enough air to reach them.

Quick answer: Buy the Omni-Clipper level 2 upgrade at a Ranger Station, wear a Gill Tube, then clip the bubble-leaking web sacs along Skunk Pond and The Bridge.

Diving Bell Sac drops

A clipped sac spills its contents on the spot. That burst is the check that the tool rank is high enough. You should see a pile of insect parts, not an empty husk.

The spiders themselves are a separate pickup. A dead Diving Bell Spider can drop a Diving Bell Spider Chunk and web fiber. Those chunks feed new pond armor and gear, so leave pack space for both the sac loot and the corpse loot.

Omni-Clipper level 2 upgrade

A stock Omni-Clipper will not open a Diving Bell Sac. Rank 2 is the lock. The upgrade also needs one Diving Bell Spider Chunk, so kill a spider before you visit the station if you do not already have a chunk.

Walk to the nearest Ranger Station and open the Omni-Tool tab. Stay on that tab. The clipper rank lives there, not on a workbench.
Select the Omni-Clipper and buy level 2. Spend the 2000 Science Points, the chunk, and the two Crow Feather Pieces. The sac harvest is available as soon as that rank is on the tool.

Gill Tube and Fin Flops

The sacs sit underwater. You need a Gill Tube so the dive lasts long enough to clip them. Fin Flops help you cover the pond banks before the air runs out. Craft both on the surface first.

Gill TubeWax, Eelgrass Strand, Silk
Fin FlopsWater Boatman Fin, Eelgrass Strand, Wax

Wax sits on Water Lilies. Eelgrass Strand comes from algae near the pond shore. Cut that algae with the Omni-Clipper, and stay shallow so you can surface. Water Boatman Fins drop from Water Boatmans around The Bridge.

Diving Bell Sac locations

Search the banks of Skunk Pond and The Bridge. The sacs are web-like structures under the surface. Many of them leak a stream of small air bubbles, which makes them easier to spot in murky water.

Those bubbles do not refill your oxygen. Treat them as a marker only. If you linger on a sac waiting for a breath, the gauge will still empty.

Opening Diving Bell Sacs

Diving Bell Spiders hunt anything that moves in that water, including you. Clear the owners before you stand on a sac. A Harpoon Gun and Bolts make that fight much shorter.

Enter the water at Skunk Pond or The Bridge with the Gill Tube on and the level 2 Omni-Clipper equipped. Watch the oxygen timer from the moment you submerge.
Kill any Diving Bell Spider near the sac. Keep the oxygen timer in view while you fight. A drained gauge ends the run before you can clip anything.
Swim up to the web pocket and use the Omni-Clipper. The sac should burst and dump Tadpole Meat, fins, and other parts into the water around you.

If nothing comes out, the clipper is still below level 2. Surface, return to a Ranger Station, and confirm the upgrade before you dive again. Grab the spider chunks on the way up so the next armor craft is not a second trip.
