Grow a Garden 2 Weather Events and What Each One Does

Every weather event in the Roblox sequel, including durations, mutations, and which ones pay out the most.

Every weather event in the Roblox sequel, including durations, mutations, and which ones pay out the most.

Weather drives almost everything profitable in Grow a Garden 2. Each event either speeds up how fast your plants grow, drops a valuable mutation on random crops, or scatters special seeds across the lobby that you have to grab by hand. Miss the event and you miss the payout, so it helps to know exactly what each one gives you before it fades.

Quick answer: There are six weather events. Rain boosts growth speed, Lightning and Snowfall apply mutations, Starfall is the rarest and most valuable mutation event, and the Rainbow Seed and Gold (Midas) Seed events spawn collectible seeds you pick up by holding E.

All Grow a Garden 2 weather events, durations, and effects

Every event runs on a fixed timer and spawns at random while you play. The table below lists how long each one lasts and what it does so you can decide what to prioritize.

Rain

Rain is the most frequent event and runs the longest at five minutes. It doubles the growth speed of everything in your garden, so it does not apply a mutation. The play is to have plenty of seeds planted before it starts. With the speed boost active, you push more crops to full size in a single window, which means more to harvest and sell afterward.

Lightning

Lightning arrives when the thunder starts and stays for two minutes and thirty seconds. Whenever a bolt strikes a plant, that crop has a chance to gain the Electric (Shocked) mutation, which raises selling value by 25x. Because strikes hit at random, a fuller garden gives you more chances to land the mutation before the event ends.

Snowfall

Snowfall turns the lobby wintry and lasts two minutes and thirty seconds. Random crops in your garden pick up the Frozen mutation during the event, which carries a 7x value multiplier. Keep crops planted and unharvested while it runs so they can be affected.

Starfall

Starfall is the standout event and one of the rarest in the game. The sky fills with shooting stars and a moon rises overhead while it runs for two minutes. Random crops gain the Starstruck mutation, which delivers a strong value multiplier. If you are online when it appears, do not skip it, since the payout per affected crop is among the best you can get.

Rainbow Seed and Gold (Midas) Seed events

These two events work differently from the others. Instead of mutating your crops, they scatter collectible seeds around the lobby that you have to pick up yourself. Both last two minutes.

During the Rainbow Seed event, the whole lobby turns rainbow and mutated rainbow seeds start spawning. Walk up to one and hold E to collect it. Each seed can turn out to be any rarity of plant, which makes it worth grabbing as many as you can before time runs out.

The Gold (Midas) Seed event follows the same pattern, except it spawns golden seeds instead. Seeds you collect have a chance to grow into a plant carrying the gold mutation, so the collection method is identical and the reward type is what changes.

Rarest and most profitable weather events

Starfall is the rarest weather in the game, with the Rainbow Seed event close behind. For pure earnings, Starfall and Lightning are the most profitable because they apply high-value mutations that push up your selling price. Rain is the supporting event since it grows more crops for those mutation windows to act on.

Note: every event spawns at random, so the most reliable way to benefit is to stay logged in with a stocked garden. A few planted seeds at all times means there is always something for the next mutation event to hit.
