The Prologue of Halloween The Game drops you into the rain in a hospital gown with a single objective on screen and a waypoint counting down the meters. It is short, it is dark, and it hides exactly two collectibles. Both are Loomis Logs, both sit on small tables a few steps off the route, and neither one is marked on your HUD.

Quick answer: Grab Loomis Log #2 from the table beside the bench and chain-link fence at the sanitarium entrance where the level starts, then walk down the road and take Loomis Log #4 off the table inside the bus stop shelter on the right.

Loomis Logs in the Prologue: what they are and how pickup works

Loomis Logs are audio tapes scattered across the game, and the Prologue holds two of them. They are numbered out of order relative to where you find them, so collecting #2 and #4 back to back in the opening level is normal and does not mean you missed #1 or #3 here.

Pickup is simple. Walk up to the tape until the prompt appears, then press your interact key, which is E on keyboard by default. The on-screen prompt reads “Pick Up Tape” rather than naming the log.

The only navigation aid you get during the level is the white diamond waypoint tied to the “TURN OFF THE POWER BOX” objective, and it tracks the power box, not the collectibles. Treat the distance readout as a rough position check while you detour.

Do not follow the waypoint yet. From your starting position outside the sanitarium, turn toward the fenced-off area near the entrance instead of the main path.

Look along the chain-link fence for a bench. The tape is on a small table set right beside it, low enough to disappear into the dark if you sweep past at speed.

Step in close and press E. The screen confirms “Picked up Loomis Log #2,” and you can head back to the main path toward the objective.

Continue down the rainy street away from the sanitarium and keep to the right-hand side of the road as the buildings close in.

Interact to trigger the “Picked up Loomis Log #4” message, then walk back up the street and rejoin the route to the power box.

How to confirm both Prologue collectibles registered

Each successful pickup prints a short confirmation naming the exact log, so you should see “Picked up Loomis Log #2” and “Picked up Loomis Log #4” during the level. If only one of those messages appeared, the other tape is still on its table, and you can double back before finishing the objective.

Tip: the prompt says “Pick Up Tape” rather than showing the log number, so the confirmation line is the only place the number appears. Read it before it fades.

Once both are in hand, the Prologue plays out as normal. Follow the diamond marker until you reach the power box and complete “TURN OFF THE POWER BOX” to close out the level.

Neither tape is hidden behind a puzzle or a locked door, so the only real risk is speed. The Prologue rewards a slow walk down the right-hand side of the street and one look behind the fence before you leave the sanitarium.
